They are some pretty good trucks. The a/c is the best. The single axle truck that is loaded on the RGN is the best for what we need around the camp that i work at because of the tight areas we have to go in. As for the double axle trucks which we only have two of. They mostly stay under the fuel tankers. I'm so glad we had gotten ride of the double axle Mercedes Actros trucks, even thou they could turn on a dime and rode good on the road, once you put the armor on those trucks it's like the a/c could not keep up in the high temperture's we have in the summer time. So if you did not have a good running a/c in a Mercedes you could definatly loose some weight.
Thanks for the reply. Be safe out there... -
First load of the day. Arrived at 7am to load and it looked tall. Was told 7'9" but wound up being 8'9". Luckily I was able to load it on rear and get me at 13'5" overall. Then they asked if they could throw the motor on the front (wasnt part of the original load) that went to the same place as the pump and I told them sure. Delivered 10 miles down the street and I got an extra $300 added on for the motor and didn't even have to ask. So now onto my second load....

I have a question for you or who can throw in their two cents. Unlike our flatbeds over here where i'm at in Iraq which are Arabic trailers. I've tried to look at other flatbed threads to see if i can see any pictures or how drivers attach the other end of the strap, not ratchet side to the trailer. Here we do not have rub rails like American trailers so we just hook our straps, ratches and chains straight to the side of the trailer just where your ratchet are permantly attached and slide back and forth. I've seen where drivers talk about running the strap through the rub rail and trailer and then bring it back up to the rub rail. I just can't remember how i did it when i drove flatbeds back in the states. Maybe my time over here is short. Depending on the contract for the company i work for.
I appreciate any info given. Be safe out there. Thank you... -

After unloading silos in Kentwood, Mi I got sent down to pick this up for Stevens Point, Wi. 8 pallets of sandblasting abrasive which had to be tarped. I have a tough life.

I asked the forklift operator if he would put the tarp up on top of the load for me and he just stared at me
