So here we see how utilizing 2" plate reduces 5/15 chain to half it's WLL vs using an identical point on the other side of the trailer: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1379782826.982590.jpg

Whereas here the chain's WLL is reduced by the lesser WLL of the binder.

You can add it as an attachment or go to a free photo hosting site like photobucket, upload the pics there, and then copy the link they give you with the [IMG]

The thing that stands out to me is how you have the hook hooked. Hook to the rub rail is a big no no at our company. They prefer chain around the pocket, around a pocket and pipe spool or two pipe spools then hooked back onto itself.

    peterbilt_2005 and Sleepy68 Thank this.

I was thinking the same thing Jumbo, especially when everybody on other threads are talking about have straps on the inside and not on the outside of the rub rail because something could hit the strap and break it. I guess it could be the same way with a chain.
I can't remember how the American trailers are, but over here where i'm at, we just hook the chain to the frame right where the rub rail would be, just because we don't have rub rails on our trailers.
