No chains really. You put 1 strap over the axle on each machine. On the smaller machines on the back, I have to put a chain or small strap on one side to keep the machine from flipping back since there is no stand on both sides, like the larger machines. I load at this place quite often (it's 8 miles from my house) and they build the cribbing on the deck to set the wheels of the machines into. easy load
