New injector nozzles in the heads and it will be the same as any other motor IMHO. Mine went at just under 700k, due to me not replacing the nozzles earlier. Diluted the oil and then spun a bearing. Everything else was great on the motor.

What kind of effect would that have on MPG?

None, they are too far away from the load to have a positive effect.

Here is a pic of my old 99 FLD I owned. She was the best truck I ever drove, averaged 7.3 mpg for the 7 years i owned it, and I made the stupid mistake of trading it in :(

Most loads are lower than the cab anyway. Only reason to run a full height truck pulling flatbed is if you just want the taller sleeper.

Personal preference, like those guys that run 130" box sleepers. Or maybe you got a deal on a 387 or a classic that only comes in full height. I don't like them because it's really too much space for me and I like to be able to sneak under the occasional 12' obstacle. I don't even like having the exhaust stacks that high. Some of the places I get into just to load have all kinds of low hanging stuff and I don't want to have to worry about capping my truck on something.

I could not agree more with you after driving a condo myself and then transitioning into a truck with a low profile. I admire people who can maneuver those big condos around with a flatbed and get around those obstacles.

Edit: Beautiful FLD's. SHC, The Gambler and Joe Citizen.

Very beautiful FLD's. You all should be proud of the work they do or did for you. One thing about FB's I like is they do not run the newest equipment but proven reliable equipment.
