I saw so many brand new mechanical cats down in galveston going over to Brazil. Those are all fully mechanical motors, no ACERT on them.

And next time, save me a darn parking spot at the truckstop will ye?

I was talking about the ones in the picture at first. They look mechanical, no ACERT so I figured they were.
Which truckstop? That little fuel stop down the street from the port? -
There is but the one, well two if you count the one next door that sells maybe 50 gallons of diesel a month...
We are contracted to Cat, and load the machines made in Brazil down there pretty regularly. Blows my mind at times. They will pay the OD etc to go from Galveston or Houston, and take them right to Iowa, North Dakota or Minnesota. The same machines are made in Ar or Il.
BTW, the ones in the picture have ECM's it looks like, so not mechanical. Although I have not seen a brand new Cat that was mechanical myself.

Nice inline injection pump on them. Thats how I could tell.
-
I wonder if I could get Fitzgerald to shove one of them into a Western Star glider for me????
-
I see the oil cooler, water pump and some oil lines on the right side of the block. That looks like a water inter-cooler at the front of the heads. Fuel pump would be on the left.
Looks like an ECM about 1:00 position from the fan. -
I've seen new 3406B generators going to ooooooooold Mexico.
-
I am guessing the ones that I saw in the port going out to Brazil were 3406Bs also. Not sure, they looked a little bigger then a 15 liter motor but they were 6 cylinder so I am not sure.
