Well when my wife and I married in the U.S. it was done cheaply.
But we had a wedding in her home country of Thailand. Big wedding/ Party that night with music and dancers plus all the food and a bottles of good whiskey at every table. had allmost 500 people for the party.
All I kept seeing was dollars flying out the driveway..
Relax says my wife. We will make money. I'm like Huh?
Well it seems in Thailand instead of toaster ovens and such for gifts, they give you cash in envlopes...
So after all the music/ booze/ food/ dancers and oh Thai. gold we bought for ourselves we only ended up spending a grand total of 250.00 U.S. Dollars, which at that time converted into like 8750 Thai baht. We kinda made money.....
Plus the food we bought for the wedding day noon meal..
P.S. Thai weddings are 4 hour long. Not fast like in the states where 45 mins. of I do and kiss the bride..

That's like my family. My wife got all that stuff at a wedding shower, then for the wedding it was almost everybody giving money. Then again MT wife and I never got to have our nice big wedding we wanted, orders changed and Afghanistan along with the training for it happened. Planned it in 2 weeks and just has parents brothers and sisters on the beach of Coronado island. Higher somebody to marry us and a photography then went to dinner. Marine corporation is known for screwing up plans like that.
