Frac side of C&J combined with Keane and they're NexTier now. Rotten old Nabors pumps..........

 

I was at Casedhole in Charlotte when C&J was buying part of Nabors. I just passed the Nextier yard in Midland (or somewhere around there), and there's crew trailers and wireline trucks with the old Casedhole color scheme. Made me kinda nostalgic.

 

The Keane guys on frac were ok. I always enjoyed the Liberty guys. Always friendly.

 

My brother was a frac mechanic at Halliburton for about twelve years. When layoffs finally got him this last bust, he went to Liberty for a few months before he got laid off there too. He said Liberty was a pretty good outfit.

This last bust is why I finally left the patch. Even though there's always another boom on the horizon, it never booms as hard as last time. So it's an up and down roller coaster ride that gradually trends downward. No reason to work 120+ hours every week and not make over $200k per year. Be better off flipping burgers at McDonalds.
