Post your MC number publicly so everyone knows you've got a 24 hour window (so you say) that you consider OK to go back on your word.

LOL. Posting my MC number will accomplish what exactly? Warn the poor mega brokers to stay away from the wiley owner operator with one truck because he might cancel a load once or twice a year?

Btw, that same broker would be more than happy to book a load with her tomorrow, she already asked me.

Brokers do keep lists for these kind of things. We rarely get calls from XPO because of me but nobody really misses them anyways and they got what they give out so that's good enough. I'm pretty sure if you told her the truth she wouldn't be calling you back and a note would be made on your MC. It's not like there's any shortage of trucks for a long time now so everyone is expendable. There's lots of untrustworthy, unreliable people out here on both sides.

I have an impeccable record with the brokers I do business with. That record isn't going to change anytime soon.

They love, (at least that's what they $ay) doing business with me.

But I don't trust them anymore than I do the used car salesman down the road.

    That's just me though.

And with that, I wish you a good night.

I need to get some sleep so I can go pick up that load for my "good buddy" broker agent from XPO in the morning.

    Lol
Better be careful what you say here or @rollin coal will throw a few whip lashes at you.

Adrienne Pope at sunset transport of st louis, MC 211084, is a liar. Long, complete story below. Mostly for your entertainment. Maybe educational for beginners in dealing with brokers.

I was dropping about 60 miles from home on an unexpectedly nice friday morning, feb 28th this year. id been gone all week and eager to see the family in daylight for a change. I forgot to unpost the truck from DAT.

She calls me asking on a 8ft tarp lumber move, 90 miles the wrong way into KY. pick and drop same day. I said i was just looking to head home and id have to really murder her on the rate to do it because i just dont want to. She still wants a quote, im the only truck up there and it really needs hauled. I say $600. All shes got in it is $550. Well thats fine im headed home. Later on she comes up to $600, desperate. Ive just finished unloading and i need the money since im a poor 1099 slob driver. Within minutes of the ratecon i am on my way, few miles to the pick 2 towns over. haulin balls, got there fast.

Theres two dryvans there for some reason and it was over 2 hours before they started loading me. Broker was notified of delay as it unfolded. I went as fast as i could and got it tarped good because it was KD maple which sucks water in and stains.

I pull out of there at 4pm and map the route. No possible way i can make the drop by the 6pm cutoff, not up that route. I call her, what do you want me to do. She calls rcvr. No one willing to wait or come in after hours or allow a self unload, now im stuck with load for the weekend. It jacks up my monday. She jovially throws on $200 more dollars for storage fee and asks if thats enough.. She was offering more i said no thats fine, im content. super sweet sounding nice girl. Just send me the ratecon with storage money on it. Oh sure. She never does.

I now have gone from a dynamite dollar per mile to fair one by adding about 120 miles on and messing up the start of next weeks check but thats truckin. im not mad, shes being kind about it, not her fault, i like the girl.

I keep the load at my house tarped real good over the weekend. Monday trailer wont lift off the tires, blown bag. Informed broker immediately. no big deal it can deliver tuesday. Takes me few hours to get the line capped to inflate it on 3 bags, limp to base, get bag, get it changed. Too late for delivery monday.

Monday night i leave to drive there and sleep at the drop for first thing tuesday unload. Nashville tornado happened that night and it was one of the worst downpours ive ever drove through. There was a second burst of extreme wind and rain at 3am in the rcvr parking lot that woke me up. Didnt know at the time how many people had been killed. It stopped 15 miles from my wife and kids.

I peel the tarps back and some of the top planks are wet. It was just such incredible wind. The loaders accepted it. I call her right after and shes the one that tells me about tornado. I mention that the wind did blast some rain into the load and to let me know if she hears anything about it, that they did accept the load. And please send me the new ratecon with storage money. Oh yeah sure i will right now. Never does.

Week after week my office mgr is saying we only have the $600 ratecon not the $800. I keep calling and trying to get it. She wont send or answer. OM tries to bill it with a notation for the $200 but they reject or something, no dice. I call the manager of sunset trans, anthony. We play days of phone tag. Eventually speak, i explain, he promises she will call me and set it straight. Never calls. This goes on for weeks of me calling him back.

Then the plot thickens. My office manager gets a call from a blocked number, an unnamed female from sunset saying she needs us to send back the $550 ratecon. OM calls me. I call anthony, he gets her to call me. Shes all hey pal, so yeah the lumber was wet and i got a $250 backcharge to kiln dry it from the receiver. It took 3 weeks thats why i hadnt called you back.

I tell her point blank "i am gonna check every word you say so now is your chance to give me the real story. Send us a copy of your kiln fee. I know some of the top planks got wet. If its real we will pay the kiln charge."

Oh yeah i will send that bill right away.

Never sends anything. I call the receiver. A one owner lumber company and kiln service. He remembers the load and they looked through all their BOLs for the month. He ordered two truckloads of that maple and did not have to dry either one. Did you backcharge the load broker a fee? No, how could i? I bought the lumber with freight included from Little River [which is a lumber broker] who handled the trucking. I have no idea who hired you to haul it and would have sent my own trucks if i knew it was that close.

I left detailed messages with little river. Not returned.

So i got sweetheart in a big fat double-down lie web. Call her back, no answer. Call anthony, no answer. Leave voicemail. "Hey, anthony, im sick of playing games with you and adrienne, the rcvr did not kiln any of the maple loads and doesnt even know who you are to bill you for it. Youve got 3 days to pay before i file on your bond and send the full $800 invoice plus 4 hours of my time plus the attorneys time over to our collections company" click.

Office manager gets a call within the hour.. "Im sending funds now." Issues email rcpt and check shows up in 2 days.

I've never understood brokers who just flat lie about stuff like this. It's not as if you don't have the ability to call the shipper or receiver to verify these things. Just take the loss and move on. Don't find yourself namedropped on TTR as a liar and a crook. FFS.

Sunset is awful. They hit my DNU list a year or so ago. They move a lot of recycled metal and plastic loads to a town near me and will flat out lie to you about what it is.
