If you are asking about B-Line Transport, Inc out of Bay City, MI....
I hope no one has hauled for them cause they just applied for common and contract authority 4 days ago...application still pending. Also, no broker authority!

The B-Line Transport Services LLC I'm refering to is at this address:
1544 Sherin Drive N.E.
Grand Rapids, MI 49525
Also, their Brokers License was granted in April of 2009. Have the MC number but don't know if I should expose that info. However, some googling will get you that info easily anyways.Last edited: Aug 30, 2010

I ask a question why does anyone haul cheap freight .I think most if not all shippers give a good rate and thenbrokers cut the h#ll out of it ...I thought when the fuel prices went high it should have drove the cheap hauling drivers out but I guess it didnt work

I had a good experience with them, although I have only hauled for them once so far.
The problem I experienced was actually with the military base in Barstow, CA. A group of us showed up with loads requiring a crane or fork lift to unload, which caused the base personnel to come unglued. Seems they had requested no loads requiring a crane or fork lift be sent due to the fact the base had repaved the lot where we were to unload and didn't want any trucks screwing it up. So there we all sat until the base decided to unload us at 1pm.
Brandee at Black Warrior was able to get detention pay and paid me within 10 days! -
I don't have any experience with either one of them but I was trying to do a credit check for you and that company didn't come up the other day but it does now. Anyways, no credit info on that one, at least not from my sources.
Just a side note...There were a couple of others B Lines that came up, one out of TX, the other I can't remember now but both had terrible credit. -
Thanks for the effort!

The B Line in TX is located in my hometown. They pay their leased o/os poorly.
I also saw the other B-Lines on the SafeStat web site.Civilservant Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info. BTW Awesome quote.

Does one need their own authority to use a broker? Thank you.

You need to have federal authority to haul regulated freight across state lines (state authority if you haul only interstate.) Typically you would have your own authority as an owner operator and you would deal with brokers and/or shippers to get your freight. When you lease to a carrier, you run under their authority and they usually book the loads. I have seen some small outfits that have owner operators but they let each truck find their own loads like they are independant but they use the carriers authority.Civilservant Thanks this.
