CH Robinson told me that I have to do at least 50 loads with them at my cost, to see any reasonable offer from them. What a Joke they are. (I was calling for loads in Laredo during hot market, when this idiot said it to me.)

I think your word is everything is biggest BS, I have ever heard. There are no rules and no one cares. I have been cancelled out of tons of loads and never got paid for TONU. Cowan Sytem. Mystic (the US Mail guy out of Robbinsville NJ, he is making US Mail look bad) Freight Qoute out of Lenexa MO, Landstar MRE, never honored any of it.

I have kind ofa euro/Russian accent, I always get a low lifers treatment. and during thehottest markets (like today 13.6 alarms/minutes and later went down to13.25/min towards 4PM, but the with 2900 loads in 200m radius with 3.5loads toa truck ratio, I was offered $1400 on a 4 drops run to GA from Reading PA byTQL. Usually these loads sit on board listed for $1400 with 1p 1d during normalmarket of 1500 loads with 1.2loads to a truck. But I never get that rate, orall the loads are always covered, even though they get re-listed again andagain. After working in this industry for over 10years it fears me that the racismmight become the reason for this beautiful country to go down to a lower levellike the third world.

I think maybe your attitude and presentation to others colors what they think of and present to you more than you're willing to admit. Do you ever own up to anything or is it always someone else's fault? If you talked with me on the phone you'd likely think I'm the biggest idiot redneck from backwoods Tennessee you ever heard in your life chewin baccy etc.. And while people may judge you from an accent you gotta do everything you can to be professional and to the point. Take control of the converstaion and talk like you mean business and they will hear it. As far as Landstar MRE goes how many times has it been mentioned how cheap and sorry that agency is, that is well known even BCO's will tell you they are the pits? And you waste time with those people?... It's funny though I saw an east coast bound load that they posted up going to VA today approx 500 miles and the rate was $2.70 a mile... ...it must have been a typo or maybe it was that one time they were in the hot seat?? Who knows, but I have seen the same one post from them for $1.20 a mile... and honestly I don't need ANY load from MRE, even that one there if it was paying $5 a mile.. There is no repeat business with a bunch like that.. ...and if you EVER haul cheap for them, any of them, or make a habit of it, or make excuses for it then why do you think they're ever going to offer more? They've got you pegged. I put my money where my mouth is and I will park the truck...

CR England calls me on Christmass eve, to haul a load out of Baltimore MD, (117 deadhead miles from Phily.) $1500 to Syracuse NY. Tells me at 12:30PM that the load has to be picked up by 3PM but, he cant send me the rate confirmation because the paper work needs to be completed. He very honestly offered me a document of hand shake and gets me to head towards shipper. I told him that I have been burnt before so I need to make sure the shipper can wait for me till I get there in the event of a traffic jam. He told me that they will wait a little. When I was on the road to Baltimre he called and cancelled the load. We have been beaten by many TONU even with full confirmation of rate sheet and they have never paid. Cowan Systems, Landstar, TQL CR England, Mystic (the US Mail guy out of Robbinsville NJ) Freight Quote and many others. But they are all in business as usual and beating us out of thousands of dollars and no one can touch them.

I think everyone has been Burn't once or twice with loads cancelling, We had 2 in one week cancel

I have never booked a load with any of the Brokers you mentioned they have a reputation of being cheap!

I also have an accent, a very strong Aussie accent so I have been told :biggrin_25524:and it hasn't hindered me in anyway at least I don't think it has!

My friend booked a load with Panther expedite 3 weeks ago.Load was picking up somewhere in Cali,300 miles from Phoenix,az.So he DH over there,he got there at 6:30 pm,and they canceled the load. They paid 600$ for TONU,thats 2$ a mile, same day when other brokers called to offer a load from Phoenix,az to La for 450$.Company I work for is small 10 trucks company,I do lot of Panther expedite loads, lot of Forward air loads and lot of Ceva loads, they dont cancel loads very often, but when they do I always get 250$ for TONU.If you play fair,if you make your pick ups and deliveries on time,if you act as a professional(no matter on accent,im eastern european with little bit of accent),if you during period of time turn out to be reliable carrier, you will always be taken care of by your reliable brokers. On the other hand, there are tight ####%^ like JB hunt, waited all day to pick up load, sent request for detention, and after 2 months got an answer from their Detention department that Im not approved for any detention.Never hauled their load again.Same with CR England loads, only had few of them and all of them were headache.Hate when I wait all day to get loaded just to tell u at 4:45 pm that your load is canceled,im sorry.

As soon as you told the broker to check with the shipper to see if he would wait, when the broker called, the shipper cancelled, probably didn't want to take the chance of you being late and keeping his workers late on Christmas Eve.

No sir. In your case, it's not racism, it's greed. They think you're stupid and cannot add, because English is not your first language. They're just trying to take advantage of you, as they do us all.

I have two Landstar agents on my ####-list, so far. One is a broker. MID underbid an OD load. JC Menter. 5425 SW SUGAR DR, MTN HOME, ID. They have a trucking company. HVY had a load. We booked, they cancelled, then called us back and asked us to take it. My husband told them he had to promise the people in Utah, he would be there, regardless. He said, "Are you sure I can have this load?" They said yes. That was 3 pm on Friday. Saturday morning, HVY said he failed to confirm, after he tried to make them confirm his load, a second time, on Friday.

HVY sucks. If they ever call and ask us to take a load, we'll say yes. They better confirm 3 times, or more. Even if they do, maybe we didn't get the message. I hope it's a Saturday load, and they have to scramble, like we did.
