It ignores(by the phone company)the *67 signal. Basic version. If you haul security loads you can get a line that gives the address and/or cell tower it originates from.

I could not read the image but I imagine you were using some heavy sarcasm. I love and hate that company. I love them in the fact that they have saved us many times from sitting over night with hyper calls of rush loads. I hate the fact that they are so hot or cold and that they take Landstar loads to move and then make a little money off of too. Sad thing is that Landstar probably took them from someone too. I am not bashing either company. I am planning to have my say on bad brokers here shortly. Let me reiterate though that overall I love Landstar and Access is ok at least half the time.

Can anyone tell me what happened to Yusen brokerage. We were hauling 2 loads per week with them for about 2 years. And then it turned into just seeing a few loads a week and not getting any of them. And at this point I have not seen their company name one time in probably 8 months to a year...maybe longer. They were the best paying broker with the best contract of any broker I have ever dealt with. They are very picky and will get ridiculous fast if they feel you have made a mistake. But they paid exception. And they are about the only broker I have ever said that about. Please come back Yusen!!!

You guys are exactly right. We always refer to TQL as young car salesmen. They all sound exactly the same. They all do everything they can to negotiate to the lowest amt. They are 99.9% male.

In my mind, the point is not to love or hate anyone. It is to understand who and what these organizations are and use it to your benefit. I always call TQL first when they have a load I may be interested in. REALLY ?? yes, I call them first, when I don't need their load and am not tired of negotiating with people giving me bad rates all day. I hear them out and tell them what I can do the load for. I don't expect to get it, but I know if that load isn't covered by 4pm and I haven't found anything else they'll be calling me back.

Most people don't call TQL until they have no other options and are to the point they are willing to haul cheap. You are only playing into their hand, wouldn't it be great to be a broker and only recieve calls from carriers who are desperate and willing to haul cheap ? You call them first, you give them your rate, then you go about your business. The only sensible way to deal with their b.s.

Yep. Some of the larger brokerages are going to use their huge capacity to get the rate as low as possible (understandable), and know that they can turn down bids all day long in a good lane, yet still have trucks to cover it before they go home for the day. TQL, and others big firms, let them know that you, the carrier, are willing to walk away from any lowball offers without even negotiating. If they throw you a stupidly low rate, and you begin to try negotiating from that instead of walking away, usually you'll not get what you need to make it profitable. I've had more return calls within 5 minutes, from just walking away with no intention of negotiating a better rate, than I've had with negotiating it up to a reasonable rate and being put on "the list" (you know... "OK, we'll log your offer and let you know"). The smaller brokers don't usually conform to the same playbook, however, and are not as hard to deal with by just doing some straight old-fashioned negotiation in a single call.
