After reading approximately 10 pages of this thread, I am getting very nervous about (re) entering the field with a Ram 3500 for hot shot work. I drove OTR, irregular route big truck for 20 years finishing up in 2001 and going into the offshore drilling industry as a merchant mariner. I'd like to try to come back out on a part-time basis after applying for an MC and DOT number but holy cow, this is really bad news!

It's not as bad as it sounds Ralph. The Internet Truckstop is $35 a month and an extra $35 for credit check. Don't haul for anyone that does not have an "A" rating. Also, sign up with D&S Factoring. You don't have to use them but it gives you access to their credit check which is the ultimate. I've never been stiffed. I know many others that have and when I check they just plain screwed up by not paying for the credit check.
rank and Aggravated Owner Thank this. -

DCT Brokerage, Scottsdale AZ, They are part of Roadrunner Transportation of Cudahy, WI.
Hauled a load for them Fort Worth Tx to Harahan,LA. At tthe shipper they needed pallet exchange. I dont carry pallets. They needed $149.16 for the pallets. DCT disp said they would reimburse me if i paid for them. They were going to charge me $25 for a comcheck..... So i paid them and when i received the settlement, it was short $29.16. They said they only reimburse up to $120.00. Why wasn't i told this when the i called in with the amount of $ for the pallets? I would of dropped the load right then and there. -

Never had a problem with Triple Star at all, and we have cancelled on them, seems like there should be more to the story here...who was your contact there?

Probably another Freightliner that's falling apart with a broken stack, busted fenders and lots of bungee straps holding the thing together.
