We are in the same situation with Power Logistics in Greenwood, AR. Invoice is almost 3 months old. We were told last week that the check went out in the mail the week before, but we still haven't seen it. And now we can't get anyone to answer the phone...and the email address for the billing dept is no longer in service. Were you ever able to get paid?
-
I've seen this problem before with a different company. best thing to do is contact a lawyer and put a lien on them thats about all u can do.

We have hauled 3 loads for Power Logistics Company of Greenwood, AR has anyone else hauled for them? and have they been paid or not paid. We have a bill 45 days late and 2 others just submitted. We have put a hold on hauling for them at this time until we see a good faith effort. We will post positively as soon as we get a positive payment from them.

From the sounds of it your best bet is to drive there and see if there is anyone in the building and/or check around to see if anyone knows where they went.
If you are getting the "checks in the mail" line, the email and snail mail comes back undeliverable and no answers to calls that is your best bet.
FYI to every driver out there reading in this thread:
When you get your first check from ANY company you drive for make a copy of the pay check!
If it's not a comm check or direct deposit done electronically then I would worry just a little bit about this senario happening to you. It's the future and written checks are a warning that things could change! I would not sign any contract if they do not offer those options on pay.
With a copy of the check you'll have routing and account numbers if you have to file a civil suit to get your money. This way if they still refuse to pay after being ordered by a judge you still have the option of garnishment if there is any money in the account! You have the keys to their life! Their money that is owed you! -
Pick up another load for them and hold it hostage until you get paid for the previous loads and the current one before delivery. Bring out the big guns!

We did end up getting paid...but only after numerous calls and emails to everyone in the organization that we could contact. We even emailed their banking reference, looking for assistance (they never responded). We found the name of their Director of Operations within the contract that we had to sign in order to haul the one load. His email address and phone number were also there...so we emailed and called him. He was the one that actually got us paid, but never offered any reasons for the run-around we were getting. Needless to say, we will never haul for them again! Steve Beineman...his contact info should be in your contract too. To reach him by phone, we called their main # and asked to be transferred to him directly. He answered his phone and called us back as he promised to.
Good luck to everyone else!49er Express Transport Thanks this. -
Power Logistics of Greenwood paid first invoice after 90 days of persistence on our part several e-mails directly to the president of the company, cc'ing everyone we could, it seemed to work so far. We still have one invoice outstanding since we did 3 hauls for them they paid the lowest priced one first which was our second load the first one was next in price now the next and last haul was due by March 10th, after 28 days per their contract, 28 working days is March 22, well I'm awaiting a response. They seem to have good hauls but don't pay unless harassed into it. I don't know how they stay in business. If they're contract stated they paid when they got paid or If when we called they stated facts as stupid as "sorry I lost your invoice" the truth I'd understand but don't tell me the checks in the mail (a lie) because that is just wrong. We have pride in being an honest company with high integrity. Good luck to anyone else who has hauled for this company. We will seriously consider if we will again, not sure we can afford the wait. I will post when they finally pay. We will see if this one is paid in less then 90 days.

I surely hope you all made a copy of any invoices and BOLs and keep sending them and listen for the "lost invoice" lie! The first or original BOL should NEVER be just mailed but sent with a receipt request from the USPS or keep the FedX, UPS or whoever you used receipts as you do need them for taxes at the end of the year!
Scanners and laptops are taxable and should be in every O/O's truck as necessary equipment! If it's needed to get paid then a copy of it is the best insurance you can have.
A hint:
You now have the name of a shipper. I just know you have the contact information to them and of course you know how much you were supposed to be paid.
NOW all you have to do is have ALL of YOUR company information put on your computer so when you contact them and they agree to your services then all you need to do is go online and email them your insurance and registration and other things they might need to do business with you. It's basically the same stuff that any broker wants from you.
Take what you were to be paid add about 10-20% to the total and if it looks good enough then UNDERCUT these morons and get his business away from him! A lot of brokers hit the original freight rate from $100 up to God only knows just to push some papers around a desk and a few phone calls!
If this load is maybe in an area you travel to a lot then call that shipper and work with them. Set a rate and hopefully you are a member of OOIDA and you can get a fill in the blank contract to use so you can start to get your own loads. You DO NOT need any kind of broker licence as some people seen to think! A Broker licence is only needed if you are getting loads for other drivers and are paying the freight on the load and you will also need a large bond so you don't need a licence.
You DO need an operating capital as when you go the REAL owner operator route you will do your own brokering with companies and of course most shippers work on an as soon as delivered payment or 7, 15, 30, 60 day hold on the payment which has been going on for many years. This is why a good business operator will not worry about money as he has what any business has and that's money in the bank that works for him until the invoices are paid in a business like fashion.
Cut the middleman out of your life!
But I bet if all of you who were burned or almost burned were to get together and work together you can put this Bottom Feeder out of the brokering business!
Take his accounts away from him! If you signed something that said you wouldn't do such a thing, his failure to pay you in any timely manner pretty much voids any contract you signed with their sorry arses!
Take him out! BUT..Join OOIDA for the large cost of 45 whole dollars a year and get the help they will give you and then give them the names of everyone associated with Power Logistics and have them put on OOIDAs broker black list and also list them on ripoff reports site and all the other trucker forums! Also the BBB both city and county and also the US BBB office!
Hurt them as badly as they did you and make them have to start flipping burgers or sweeping docks as they do not need to be ripping off real working Americans! As a BFI they don't deserve to be close to a real trucker! They tried to put you to living under a bridge it's your turn!
Payback is a Mother and can be so sweet when you drive by their homes and see for sale signs in the front yards!
