Probably your best option is to move, you will not survive pulling tropical with that monthly insurance rate. I have the rate sheet for tropical

Great answer. You are a business person. I find to many drivers are of an employee mindset . Gimme gimme gimme .... company did not gimme want i want so they are rip offs.

That day is coming faster than most think. 20 years ago when i started driving it only took a very short period of time for me to realize these jibs will not last long.

I lost 2 direct customers that I thought were respectable. Shippers are as bad as the brokers. They all want something for nothing and for O/O's to bare all of the expenses.

Free market capitalism at its finest.

Every now and then I make the mistake of conversing with another O/O in Fla,.. and they all sound like a broken record. I think they all read from the same book and all listen to the same trucker talk radio. They all cry and whine about the rates and blame the brokers robbing them. Sorry brothers,.. I love you idiots to death,.. but you have no one to blame but yourselves. The rates are what they are because the freight is moving at those rates. Stop hauling at those rates and they will go up. Supply and demand.

I've seen some loads posted coming out of Cape Canaveral. So its coming. They wanted teams.

Team flatbed? Um,.. more power to you guys.

I’m not confused at all. A lot of newer guys call being leased on without their own trailer “power only” just like having your own authority without a trailer

Team flatbed is common. When you got a Boeing 707 down you need that new engine asap. The difference between a team running straight through and a solo operator stopping for 10 hours can be a loss of a hundred thousand dollars.

DrDieselUSA, Hurst and fortycalglock Thank this.
