Yea I used it to power my fridge for a while worked for me

Yes, I think most truck stop chains have a lighter plug mod that has a pigtail wire extension in the electrical accessories section

The two binding posts are intended for you to power your CB. On my Volvo, they are connected to a 20A fuse, so yes, if you connect a lighter socket to them, you can plug anything into that socket.
I know several people who use those binding posts to connect a small inverter to charge their laptop and such.
FYI, the black round thing in the picture is not a socket. It's a rubber grommet where the CB coax is supposed to come out. -
Thanks a lot guys!

i use a cobra cpi480 - 400w power inverter. plugs right into the cigarette lighter. also has post terminals like seen in your pic with black and red cable you can attach to the power inverter and the terminals.
it powers my laptop and my cell phone charger and its perfect. tried using my flat iron to straighten my hair and it starts blowing fuses lol. -
Lighter socket is usually 20-30 amps... always 12vdc..

I have yet to see a 30A lighter socket. The ones in my truck are 15A. Back when lighter sockets had lighters, they were 20A. Now they're "power outlets".
