I keep reading the "been approved" for this company or that. If you are approved to go to school, etc.. and told you will drive for them to pay for the schooling, does it really mean just that? Some of these same guys are then coming back here and talking about getting fired once done with school. Do they not do the background check, driving record check, etc...before they hire, or pre approve the person? I have been "pre approved" also for millis transfer as I had posted a few weeks ago. What really is pre approved??![]()
Pre approved?? what it really means?

It means you look good on paper. Does not mean you have a job. Pass all the tests, jump thru all the hoops and if they give you a set of keys you have a job.

It basically means that you are not disapproved at the on-set. If everything falls into place, you will be hired. But, you gotta remember, there are tons of potential new-hires that change their mind before they show up at orientation. Put yourself in the companys shoes, you process a new-hire and he backs out at the last minute. You need to hire 40 drivers next week and only actually process in 32. Now you have empty seats and lost revenue. Ah, the joys of trucking.........

Pre-approve means nothing really. It may mean that company is hiring but then again it may not. Just don't fall into a trap at Millis with all the drivers there speeding. Their SafeStat score shows high for drivers and the ticket data base shows an outrages amount of speeding tickets. That tells me the company has a crappy safety program and dispatchers that push their drivers. It's a shame because they score good for their vehicles.
