    Hi all,
I'm not sure what the process is to get pre-hires from various companies.
I know that private schools will do it for you (for a fee) but I am looking for a comprehensive company form or universal form to fill out and submit myself.
I have already obtained my DMV report, now I would like to submit pre-hires to any and all hiring prospects, before I go through training-again.
Any input on the best way to go about it would certainly be appreciated.
    Thanks to all!

google cdl jobs. They have a mass form that sends to a lot of companies.

You'll probably get an auto-email back from CRST, Werner, and a couple others.

    First off, from my experiences, various companies submit "pre-hires" to you. Kinda goes like this;
You are attending a NON company sponsored school. Once you have your IP, go ahead and check the web for companies that hire recent school graduates and submit applications either individually, or as mentioned last post, with a generic app. that goes out to many companies.
This will show where you are attending school and when you will graduate and actually be available for "employment", or finishing training.

Companies that will take you on, or attempt to hire you will issue a "pre-hire letter". I know when I trained at school I got 5 pre-hire letters sent to me saying, Ok so and so we are interested in you as a potential employee. Visit us at our office or submit long form DOT physical and drug test taken at OUR doc.
If you pass that they MAY set up an appointment for orientation. Once there you may have to do a work well physical and driving test.
If you are a stellar prospect and all the above mentioned is complete, they just may offer a job. That is if there are still positions available.

I don't mean to sound negative in any way here. Getting prospective drivers to come to an orientation is the companies way of giving you a close look over, and it is used as just that.
Also, they will pull your records using your DL/CDL number. You shouldn'nt have to submit one to them.

I went through all this stuff 3 yrs ago and took a local job. Did a test drive one day and started hauling loads the next.
    NOT OTR tho
    Best Wishes

Find a good company online and submit your resume. Stay away from the fleece.

I believe even Schneider is hiring right now, but why not do a local job search first looking for "CDL" jobs.

Another note of advice to all of you job hunters...have your job history (last 10 years, don't lie as they can and will find out and getting dropped from orienation does show up on DAC/USIS/Hireright or whoever they call themselves this week, has a button just for falsifying a job application) , accidents, tickets, medicines, blood type and last time you had sex and with whom all written down so the process is as painless as possiable! Don't rely on mind power alone!

Also be aware that there are "dead" states. I live in Maine, most companies will not hire from here because they dont have many loads that come this way.
