Am I the only one who thinks it's a joke except on tolls. I get red lighted 90% of the time and they keep it turned on when nobody is working scales registering a green light. I alway hit a scale house as soon as I get a heavy load and only had to change my tandem a couple of times so I have never run overweight. Just curious what you alls call on it is.

Company provides me PREPASS... I think for every 80 green lights...I get a red light and it's usually on that I55 Boilingbrook Scale or I80 Tinley Park while im EMPTY........... I believe it's based on the companies score as well so I dunno. I run MI,IN,IA,WI,IL and those scales are pretty prepass friendly....... with the exception of those that dont have them.

However... when I do get redlighted... and being a container hauler - they eye rape me as I proceed into the scale just looking for any visible defects (lights).... it's kind of scary the way they eye #### me.

Averitt has a really good rating as far as I know. I see the other companies going in the same ones I do. Also know that when they leave them one but nobody is there the company has to pay every time it dings that green light. It's great for tolls as I haven't had a problem yet.

I pay $14.90 for mine, in a company truck to boot. WORTH every cent, especially in Florida at the fruit inspection stands.

Some states are leaving the red lights on because people went by the scales when their Prepass told the scale they were good but the DOT spotted them later with faulty equipment when their prepss said it was good. That's why Georgia keeps pulling people in.
