Well been on the road on and off for about five years. I always hear people on the old CB's Razing the swift drivers and the Sneider drivers. We are all on the road to make money. So why give them a hard time? I guess working for Swift could be a stepping stone to work for another company that pays more. So get your experience in and go somewhere else where the pay is better.

To be honest Lilbit, I just keep praying their not lying to us. However I do have plan C in the works in case. This was plan B.

Swift, Schneider, Werner, and JB Hunt just get picked on because of the size of their companies. The big dogs always get picked on. I started with Swift, and I just made jokes right along with, and even made up a couple of my own.

Then why is it so hard for me to get into Swifts Syracuse,NY training for almost 3 weeks now! I even faxed my drivers abstract, and the signed release form and my recruiter Sonya says there is no space available and finally told me Thursday to call her 12/22 as she "heard" there would be openings coming up? It's hard for me to believe anyone in the carriers offices anymore! At least Watkins & Shepard told me up front that it is $4,000.00 for their 4 week training in Missoula, MT. I sent them as well all my paperwork and Sandy there tells me she is processing it and class would be 1/5/09 in Montana if all goes as stated. Time will tell.....:biggrin_2554:

that is all i am doing. Unless things change, i dont see myself here after a year. I really want to go O/O, and work out of a Wal-Mart DC, but i also wont go thru a lease with the company that i cannot 'walk away' from. Not saying I wont stay with this long enough to pay the truck off, I just dont want anybody to tell me what i can and cannot do to my truck or who/what i can have on it. (granted keeping safety in mind....hookers wont be allowed in the top bunk when the truck is moving, no matter how many i have) :biggrin_255:

Classes are getting booked up with all the people coming into the industry lately. Add to that the drop in freight, and it's getting tight out there. This is also a hard time of the year because of the holidays coming up.

I don't know about NY. I've inquired only about San Antonio and Phoenix. Frankly I've found the recruiter for the west side much more helpful than the one I had for San Antonio. Plus, they only take so many in a class. We had to reschedule because of my accident and the classes were full so my husband's had to wait. That's why I'm going to try to pass the work well even thought I don't think I can.

If the recruiter said there might be openings then it may mean she's expecting someone to drop out. Just a thought

Yeppers! I even asked if I could go to another one of their 33 locations in the country, and she said company police is you have to go to the terminal closest to your house since you take the truck home on your off time.

Yeh, that's why we went ahead and moved to AZ before doing the school. :yes2557: We wanted to run from here and have hometime here with the grandsons. :yes2557: It's all about the nana biz.
