It must say something about me psychologically that I read a letter of a someone else being rejected for a job that I myself didn't apply to or wouldn't want, and at a time when I'm not even looking for work, and it makes me feel bad.

I'm still plugging away trying to find a job! This is the hardest I ever tried, and after working 38 years with very little problems finding a job, it would be easier to work then it is looking for work!

Anyone ever hear of them or anything about them? They are located in Missoula,MT. and I may have a shot with them, far far away from NY though!

    Thanks,

I got my start with Swift there no worse than other training companies. Heck there are complaints for just about every company out there it is what you get out of it that counts. I stayed with them for a yr, then went local. They treated me well, the only problem I had at times was with miles, and that I blame myself for a good part of it being new and not knowing all the ins and outs of the job to get better miles. They never gave me a problem about getting home when needed. Heck I kept my truck and trailer parked at my house for two weeks, when I went back north to New England for a funeral.. All they wanted to know is if I was going to come back. When I said yes then they gave me the green light to part truck at home...

Once while in fontana CA, my wife was rushed to the hospital, they flew me home and back when all was said and done with her. And when I got back my truck and all of my belongings was still there in one piece.. All I had to do was give the truck a good bath, cause most of the Fontana lot was durt...

Swift does catch alot of flack, but there are as good as any to get your start in trucking. Your are correct in that every company out has negative and positive comments on here. Most comments on here that are negative are by disgruntled employees or drivers that are repeating what they heard from the disgruntled employees. My advice take what you read on here with a grain of salt. Whatever company a driver chooses is going to be what they make it.

    Dragon,
Sounds like you are off to a good start. Just keep the faith and as others have said, basically ALL companys are what you make of them as you drive for yourself, but there are also bad companys out there as well which is true with life in general! Welcome.......
