You can pick them up at the place that gives the written CDL tests in my state.

Your local DMV's handbook will be everything you need to pass the permit test But. I would recommend seeing about enrolling in a class. Theres a lot more to trucking than just knowing how to drive the truck that a company will not take the time to teach you and want you to go for schooling to learn. Most company's will even require that you go to a class for it.

I'm a self-starter, so I'd support getting you learner's permit on your own. That said, I doubt you will have alot of opportunity without some official training on driving skills. Companies and especially insurance will not take a chance when they don't have to.

My guess is you are at least a couple of steps ahead of the average person. I predict it will pay dividends for you.

Do yourself a favor and do not overload your mind with information. Get the book from DMV and learn it from front to back. When you get different books you'll end up with a question that has different ways to answer the question. Sure they all say the same thing but why would you deviate from the book where the questions come from? It's like asking for directions over the CB.

    BigJohn54 Thanks this.
