Well the last time I checked WE were the supreme species on the planet. Does this mean we should put other species into extinction? No. But, I'm pretty sure that they will learn to live with pipelines or whatever else needs to be done. They will be fine.

There's an old Spanish mission in Southern California where the swallows have been returning to for over a hundred years.

Where did they nest BEFORE the mission was built?

Now-a-daze, the swallows have moved on again, after all those years.
    Where have they moved to?
The new bridges, over-passes, and the walls of the new homes and shopping centers and malls, ....... that's where.
Seems life for them is evolving as their numbers increase.

    Bummers for the tourists though.
And the festival just ain't the same either.
The least those ingrate birds could do is make an appearance in flock.
But it seems they prefer to dwell in the suburbs.
    Go figure. :scratch::dontknow:

wake up guys-there are millions of the "south of the border workers" who would be happy to run your loads if we all went on strike.TRUST ME,THEY ALLREADY CLAIM TO BE BETTER WORKERS,DRIVERS,ETC!.i know, having heard all them say it MANY times! you don't think the Democrats would see this as a perfect reason to give amnesty to them so they could get CDL's!!!.you don't think Mary Peters wouldn't use this as a perfect reason to open the borders to mexican trucks!!!???.THE ONLY SOLUTION is to leave the cheap freight on the dock!!! the big company drivers will not participate in a strike, so the O/O's and independents will be portrayed by the media as the "problem". you see--strikes only work if there is absolutely no one else who can do the job,,,,and there are WAY TOO MANY MEXICANS HERE ALREADY who would just love to take our place!!!!!!--ever notice how little english you hear on the CB in SoCal????:biggrin_25513:

and we don't need to tarnish our image any more than we have with the piss-bottles,the scraggly dressed-stinkies we see all to often now, lack of grooming AND professionalism that IF YOU BOTHERED to notice-MOST of the "south of the border" drivers appear WELL GROOMED,DRESSED like the "gentlemen Jim" trucker of days gone passed. but--this belongs on another thread

    Hmmmmmmmmmm

I might agree if the day was switched from
    Monday to Wednesday.
    Or Fridays AND Mondays.
    I'd strike for that. :biggrin_25523:

But, then again ---- Big truck truck drivers are people TOO!
What would THEY buy on their day(s) off?
    Hmmmmmmmmmmm

    I'm thinkin' wrought iron.
You know, for the security doors and windows -- and the 10 foot fence -- to protect y'all
from all the OTHERs who will be inconvenienced while we throw our tantrum(s).

If that happens, the chances of a Big truck truck driver bein' elected President wouldn't be as likely as it is today.

From my observation(s) --- those who want instant results from a "strike", are usually the same who rarely, if ever, contact their elected representatives to voice their concerns. Officials who are often elected in the first place because they heard nothing from their voters -- and/or non-voters.

When the elected officials hear nothing, the silence could be deafening.
    Imagine that.

    Now

    Imagine this ----
A sleeze-bag drivin' a Big truck is about to leave a Big truck truck stop.
    Before departure, he/she announces over the CB radio;
I'm leavin' 5 full pee-jugs in this here front row spot. Next guy/gay takin' this spot might wanna watch out for them. There ain't no caps on 'em, and they'd be just outside the driver's door.

    Hmmmmmmmm
If an 11 meter signal were broadcast,
and nobody had their ears on ---
    who'd hear it?
    And what would they think/say?

    "Thanx for the warning driver."?
"Hold that spot 'till I get thar."?
"Jeeze driver! Have the decency to
dump in the the back row."?
"Oh drat! I think I just ran over it!
    Haa HAA haaa HAAAAAA."?

Now, there are those who wonder why few, if any, folks are critical of those actions, -- of which I'm told is the majority. And I might just have a clue.

You see, the "good folks" seem to turn their "Children's Band" radios ---- OFF. Thereby ignoring that chatter.
    They've heard enough.
And I don't fault them there.
BUT, silence is another form of perceived acceptance.
What GOES on, goes on because it's allowed to go on --- for many reasons.

Our gubmint is BY the PEOPLE and FOR the PEOPLE.
    The gubmint is US.

    A "strike" ain't gonna change that. :biggrin_25513:
