I'm scheduled to go to driver solutions in springfield, mo in three weeks.
My question is what should i be doing before hand. Should i be reading
the cdl manual everyday or is there online stuff i can study. Just want to
be prepared as much as i can.![]()

Hey KCtruckin,
I'm a wannabe myself so I can't tell you much about advance preparation for school but I did take the CDL exam, successfully. After lots and lots of studying I went online and took the FREE CDL exam sample tests offered by CristCDL. Just google CristCDL to get to the site.KCtruckin and kickin chicken Thank this. -

Hello KCTruckin
If you would like, start a thread under," Trucking Schools", so that you can post your experiences in training so we can follow your journey to become a truck driver.
Best of Luck to You and Your Success!!!KCtruckin and simplyred1962 Thank this. -
Why Driver Solutions? Did you check with OTC for when their classes start at a much better price? Whats going to happen after you graduate from them? Who will you be working for and what lease will a trainee sign?
-
Well i picked driver solutions because they work with PAM and USA trucking...i liked the idea of having a job lined up already. Which i do with USA.
Most of the community colleges in kansas city where i live are charging close to 6k for cdl training. Not to mention i wouldn't have a job lined up. Just seems a bit more risky with all the talk of trucking being slow because of the economy. -
You might want to make a doctors appointment to get those pills for depression before hand. -
Not everybody can learn to drive truck . It's like playing a banjo . Some just pick it up through natural ability and others never get it no matter how many times they try .
I don't care who believes it and who doesn't . I've seen enough of them . Same with heavy equipment operators . Skill can't be taught . Either you have it or you don't . -
that bad huh? lol that does sound kind of depressing
