The CDL exam prep trainers were less than satisfactory but the end result is that I passed the CDL exams and can move on into the Mentoring program now. If I draw a good mentor right off the bat, I will without question enjoy the six weeks on the road. If I don't get a good mentor right off the bat, I'll move on to another one. I'm easy to get along with, and I'm fairly certain that the close quarters will not change that.
I WILL get the training I need to ensure I know how to continue improving my skills, both as a driver and as an employee, once the training has been completed. And I'm certain that with a reasonable, proficient mentor that can be accomplished. I will do my part! This is important stuff and I've heard enough stories of good mentors that I believe the system can work!!!Schmidtrock and Tazz Thank this. -
Now that you have your CDL, do i look for a truck with training wheels.
May you have a great adventure.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
Regardless of the quality of your mentor focus on the mechanics of your tasks. Put another way you have proven you can operate the truck, now repetition will bring comfort and speed.
Keep us posted and if ya' see a big 387 with Taz stickers on the big sleeper window....

My hubby took a suitcase but switched to a carry -duffel bag when he was OTR in training and came home and switched it all -said it fit better in the rig and took up less room. He got it as a TS for like <$10. It's all he uses now. Easier to unpack the truck too when he gets home. He keep all his bathroom supplies in a smaller seperate bag again easier when he gets home to unpack.
*don't forget LOTS of spare undies for those ''HOLY SITHZ!!!! " moments you will experience in the next few weeks!!Remember Mom always said make sure your underwear are clean in case you are in an accident!! BAWHHHHHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not like the thumb drive idea much either. I would recommend saving the info as a draft on a gmail/yahoo or hotmail account (or other isp). The thumb drive can be lost or stolen. Your passwords for your email should exist only in your head.JustSonny Thanks this. -
