It looks like we're going through a few states and the truck is equipped with prepass.

Don’t go in if you get the green light?

I always wonder about that. I’ll skip it if I get the green light on an Interstate, but I cross several scales regularly on full access highways where they love to chase people down.

If your pre-pass tells you to keep going you don't have to stop, but if it says stop, that's what you do.

Does anything supercede the green light?

Oversize loads are required to stop regardless of prepass signal.

A basic general rule is if they have a sign and it says stop not just open or whatever then you stop otherwise green light means go unless other conditions as above apply. You CAN likely run a scale with a green light even if the sign says truck must enter scale...... but your tempting fate at that point. Moreso of the trooper is particually assholeish.

I have entered when I got a green light but the sign said to pull in.
I went in to ask and was told that if I got the green light I did not have to come in.

TawcoTruck, Coover, Rickp and 3 others Thank this.

Best to get correct info from the PrePass pamphlet or you can likely get it online. In some states, Arkansas and Arizona for sure and I'm sure some others, If you are placarded you must go into the scale, green light or not. And I don't get out west anymore so I don't know about Arizona, but Arkansas will come after you a lot of the time. Friend of mine got nailed and the fine was @ $150. Most of the others you can bypass with placards, but if you're not sure better to go in.
