The guide says it's supposed to be 2-3" below the header (which I can understand) and 2" to the right of the centerline. What would be a reason that it needs to be away from the center like that? Also, my old truck had EZpass in a much similar location, but my new truck has it at the bottom of the windshield. Is either placement better than the other and why isn't it an option to put Prepass on the bottom too?

The idea is to get it UP as close as possible to the transponder as possible and at least 2 inches from any metal (center windshield divider)
However, with most transponders, it hardly makes a difference where they are positioned so long as they are somewhere near the windshield. But some truck visors can impede the communication at some transponders. As long as your getting red and green lights at pre-pass weigh stations and OK lights at toll booths, leave it alone.Ralph4159 Thanks this. -
Put it in a drawer in the back and it'll still work. It doesn't matter where you put it, just so long as you can see.
And yes I've seriously had one go off in a shower bag, in the back of the sleeper. Makes you wonder why they even have instructions on where to put them on the windshield:smt102Bean Jr., D.Tibbitt, AtticusRoad and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah what he said.
They seem to Tx pretty strong.
The other day I didn't want it to read so I took it off and In my Hand Behind the Drivers Seat it still beeped at me.Ralph4159 Thanks this. -
Sit on it or put it in a thick aluminum foil vag is the only 2 ways I know of to not let it read
