During a audit can they access your prepass records to try and catch speeding or incorrect logs? Pre pass said they couldn't but I had a guy tell me a fellow driver no longer drivers because of them.

the biggest problem with pre pass not giving up records is, DOT already has them, if you look around while in the coop you will see they have there own PC hooked to a monitor getting the info they need to track you. I asked Tn (brownsville) coop about this. Although they said they don't pay any attention to the monitor or warnings, the info was stored.

they may not pay attention, but i bet the highway patrol might look them up.
i had a lvl 1 on the 5 in oregon. and he spent 30 minutes on my logs. i've never had them spend more them 5 minutes on my COMPUTER PRINTED
logs.
i'll bet he was verifying against the washington cameras. -
Not sure about the pre pass deal as I don't use it. Yet, you better 100% believe the Washington and Oregon stations match up the log to the camera. Many a friend of mine have been given a good stern shakin' over being off cue.

Since no one knows exactly where and what technology is being used to capture our exact location at any given moment, be it cameras with license place recognition technology, fuel purchase transactions, tolls, etc. I simply log it like I do it. The sooner the customer gets the picture that it is no longer an option to "beat the HOS game" the sooner they will stop asking us to do it. Heaven help any carrier that is caught trying to get their drivers to do it now.

I use prepass and like not having to scale at every coop, fact is that if there's an accident or anything else the prepass will be the least of your worries, you can bet that your cell phone , someone elses cell phone, hwy cameras etc. have your exact location already stored

I think in the last 100k miles I have been red lighted maybe 10 times if that, so the average is about once every 10k or so and most of those I get green lighted before getting to the scale but I run nice newer gear and keep everything clean and up to date and have had zero issues so maybe that's part of it??
Either way, the less I have to put myself in a position to get talked to the better -
Prepass information is only available to in-state information only. Meaning if you pass two or more scales in the same state...then yes they can see when you passed those scales. Now if you cross a state line than no...they can't see the previous state information; only in-state information only. Hope that helps ya.
