How many 1 truck operations use prepass? Is it worth getting or just another way to track you

I am not an o/o but if I were I would get it. I haven't pulled into a weigh station in about four months I get the green light or the station is closed.

If you run 100% legal logs, always time matching exactly, use prepass. That is unless your carrier has lousy CSA numbers, then you just gave them a 30 second heads up to pull you around back.

PrePass says they do not track/share info (NorPass did, I believe). I would think that with all the tag readers and cameras out there that you can be found if someone is looking for you.

That little green light and 'beep, beep, beep' may be the nicest thing that will likely happen in the course of your day!

    Just me since '93.

Would not truck without one. Very cheap and saves a lot of unnecessary stopping at the scales. Our safety scores were kind of bad a few months ago and I was still getting green lights. Thankfully they're better now. Can't remember the last time I was red lighted.

Prepass uses an escalating scale on randoms as the safety score worsens. They send you a letter soon after you sign up to explain it. I've forgotten the details and would never find the letter from three years ago. Truth is, your carrier score has to be really bad before it affects Prepass.

In a nutshell, you get the "average" treatment of mostly bypass events up to about 90% of intervention level on CSA. Then, as the CSA score climbs through the 90's, you will get more frequent red lights. Until you hit the max and prepass just puts you in "all trucks in" status and you may as well put it in the glove box until the score improves.

You haven't been through Ga. lately have you? You will get a red light there unless they are closed or it is coming a monsoon.

The actual transponder worked 50% of the time or you were red lighted 50%?

Have never had one, thought about getting the Pre Pass Plus to narrow down stopping at both tolling booths & scales.
