Go for it and get the best you can. You spend too much time using your eyes in this job.
I got $1k worth of Ray Bans. 2 pair that I really like.

So did I for a time. I was wearing hard contacts after getting out of the Air Force. I don't remember the exact year but my eye doc wanted me to stop and switch to glasses. Over time I got a pair of those. However, I am one of the unfortunate ones that glasses have to be very light or I get horrible headaches. So my eye doc put me back in contacts this time they were the soft ones. Because my prescription changed those old glasses were not strong enough to use as a backup. Thankfully today after cataract surgery my vision in my left eye is 20 20 and I am looking forward to having 20 20 vision in my right eye this year.
