No to the best of my knowledge, these meds won't show up. The decision to let your employer know that you are taking this medication is on you!

There is no place on the chain of custody to list medications taken or show a prescription at the testing site. When you get notified by the MRO of a positive, is when you send information about legal RXs.

 

And you just touched on why I hate these dang gypsy hair tests. There is no standards. Grey carriers might use a lab that does test for benzos and Ace Trucking might use a lab that doesn't. There is zero regulation in any of it. If we are talking about an official FMCSA test I can give advise, but when it comes to this garbage I can't because -----

 

^ this. I had to take some opioids for my dental work and popped a positive on a random for it a few days after i had finished the bottle. Just had to send in the perscription and they cleared it. As for hair test, when i was at the post office the standard answer we got for a hair test was just dont say anything and if it pops a positive send in the RX. If you have a perscription its not going to be a big issue same as a fmsca random. Long as everything is legal they USUALLY wont care. Though i cant speak to knight and their internal polices.

That said and take this with an entire truckload of salt, i do know legally your employeer cant penalize you for legal medication on an fmsca unless the drug impairs your ability to work. I imagine the rules are the same for a hair test and if they refuse you, they could get in some deep #### if your all legal.

 

About 7 years ago I was taking Adderall for ADD (had a prescription). I took the bottle with the prescription information on it to the testing site, and passed my drug test. I don’t think you’ll have any problem.
