Not completely sure on the accuracy of this wiki link, but something to look at.
I will try to find something more specific. But from the looks of this, you will not be able to keep taking them on a regular basis. -
HYDROCODONE (aka Vicodin) is not cool.... by the way...
[Percocet is 10x stronger than Vicodin]
[Oxycodone is 10x stronger than Percocet]
(I know cause I have take all of them..especially during kidney stones...dam those #### things hurt)
This is not a medicine to be on the road with.
During home time and if you have enough time, then I wouldn't see any issue if its needed but these are not medicines to be taken
for recurring pain on a daily basis. Your body builds a quick tolerance to these and you need more and more....
Like Brett Favre... (MVP? - More Vicodin Please) -
No, I'm about 95% on that drug being a really big no-no-no.

I was born and raised in Baltimore, welcome to the party and forum! -
Hydrocodone is one of the meds on the not allowed list. Might want to consider something non narcotic. I had to switch off Vicodin (hydrocodone/Tylenol) and went with a straight anti inflamatory. It takes the edge off and helps for the most part, but I still have my rough days I just have to bull through.
My doc likes to say if it hurts, it means you still have it.
Besides. Hydrocodone was never intended to be a maintenance medication. There are other things out there that are much more effective. Flame me now for saying this and let's see if you need it for pain or for perceived pain.
Cheers. -
I'm not trying to detract from your personal experience. I don't doubt you are saying exactly what happened to you. I'm only stating facts.
None of these are allowed in possession of a CDL holder in the CMV. As far as I know. Maybe Dieselbear might shed some light here. -
I'm on a script for Hydrocodone and I'm not driving but I stay off it unless the pain is more than I can cope with. It also has the "don't operate heavy equipment" sticker! That should tell you right there it's not a good thing.
If you screw up, have an accident and the urinalysis shows this drug in your system or they find the bottle or pills in the truck, get ready for the law suit ride! You will be listed in the defendants list! It could also net you a DWI, DUI charge. Do you really need those Schedule II drugs in your system or tuck?
Try Tylenol or Advil or straight aspirin but kick the Hydrocodone/Vicodin out of the truck!
One thing that most people do not know about Hydrocodone or Tylenol is they are very hard on your liver! I have two reasons to stay away from them unless they are really needed! 3 months in Ft Benning Army Hospital with Hepitius A was bad enough but to have more liver problems due to a drug, forget it, not to mention another Army Hospital stay in 1972 and their really free use of morphine at that time in history and a resulting addiction I picked up then fought off of! Pain killers scare the hello out of me! Smoking was the hardest addiction to get off of but I don't want to even go there again with a narcotic!
Ask your doctor to come up with something that will help control the pain that is not addictive or will not allow you to operate heavy equipment or drive. It's out there but it wont kill all the pain. That's where you have to put your brain to work! -
Injun Thanks this.
