He's looking for slang terms and the CB lingo.
I use proper English on the radio and I'm not too big on jargon.
one of those Channel 6 guys would probably be more interesting subject matter

 

Yeah, I hate the "need" to make yourself sound like some sort of hillbilly with the slang and the accents when you're on CB. It's like you have to become an actor and put on the makeup in order to blend in on the great stage of the CB world sometimes. I don't do it either.

I read an observation by someone (maybe on here) that when he met a driver at a fuel stop that he had been talking to on the CB, he didn't recognize him from his voice and mannerisms because they were so different than what he had heard on the radio.

Is this due to the movies or just a natural thing when you get on the radio? Do some of the ham folks do it too?

 

that's definitely true with lots of people but this guy sounds exactly the same in person.

 

If i cant have a intelligent conversation with someone I don't bother. All the stupidity and nonsense is interesting to listen to. And it's not going anywhere. All cb radios have a ON/OFF SWITCH
