30k can be done in 1 and a half months if you're running good. I know of at least 3 trainers (good trainers at that) that won't be taking any more trainees because of the new mileage.

Hubby is on hometime and I just read him this. Our question is, are they going to be tougher on those that they put into their own trucks? Or are they going to use this as a way to also fill trucks quicker?

I know he has had some trainees that were just starting to get the hang of things at 30K, but by no means were they ready for OTR on their own!!

So you would have been good to go with that lease right out of Orientation, and no training miles would have been needed?

Tell ya what, when you decide to be a trainer... you can give all the extra money back to Prime or to your trainee... Anyone who says they arent in it for the money to train is a liar.

The question is... Is the trainer giving quality instruction and information, or just collecting the dough? Its impossible to present every concievable freight, safety, and procedural experiance to the trainee in 60k... For the trainer its a matter of building a foundation of solid information from which the trainee can make decisions, and who to ask when he's not comfortable to make a decision.
