Exactly. I called safety because my dispatcher was trying to force it on me when i had already did 11 hours and the wanted me to deadhead 240 miles to get this load on time.
Safety said this exactly "Jake if you do not pick this load up by X:XX am have your ##### packed and find your own way home from chilicothe,oh.".
Does this sound like a stand up company? They would make me send them paper logs as well as scan them in and later found out they were fudging them to keep them legal.
I wish Rob would read this or maybe I will e-mail hime the link to see what drivers really thought about the company.

WOW !!!!!!!
So much for all that B S talk, about how all a driver has to do is call safety when he has an unreasonable and or illegal request or demand from a dispatcher.
Some people love to say, "Well, a driver is the captain of his ship and doesn't have to do anything that's unsafe". What a crock.
I can see drivers being pressured and or forced to take a load that is impossible to deliver legally. I'll bet there is no law that makes the company responsible. If a law was designed to give tickets to the company for putting a driver in a bad situation then this crap might stop.
Should dispatchers should be responsible for taking into consideration all aspects of a load as it pertains to a drivers ability to handle it?

fuel bonus for company drivers at Prime starts at 6.26... 6.25 keeps your job... anyone who thinks this is unreasonable has no sense of whats going on in the economy... its supply and demand for jobs..that sales guy who cant make his quota is going to be replaced by someone who can... same thing in trucking.
I have 2 friends now looking for jobs... great careers and good money, but when management ranks the employees and draws a line...if your below it, your gone. Neither one are in trucking.
For the most part its gonna be a jungle out there for the forseeable future...
As far as the safety thing, it goes against everything they preach about... Until I or any of my friends (student buddies, not online friends) comes up against safety in a situation, I will remain suspicious against you and them(safety)
I finally have a complaint... Springfield is a black hole for freight...so many drivers coming and going I sat for almost 2 days... checked in with dispatch on day 2 and they still had people ahead of me from the day before... the terminal is resort compared to our other ones... but i told my FM to ask me if Im sure the next time I want to come in...(FM dont handle freight outbound from Sprinfield... its first come first serve from the yard or local shippers)
ran into 2 guys who started as students with me... one is leasing and doin well, the other is joining him as a team... the lease guy can set the terms of paying... right now the other one agreed to .12 per mile and 10 percent of revenue (or profit) cant remember... thats the minnimum he said...he will probably bump it up after he gets a handle on how they are moving and revenue generated after a couple weeks... Ive met guys who split 50/50 and others call the lease guy crazy since he's got all the responsibility... its their business they can do what they want...pawpaw Thanks this. -
