Took a load very special load of Budweiser out of the Cartersville, GA brewery to St Louis the other day. I had 2 pallets to SL and the rest going to the Bud warehouse in Granite City. The contents of the 2 pallets going to St. Louis were destined for the locker rooms at Busch Stadium for the World Series. Anyways, after that went up to Beardstown, IL for a load with a DDT of Monday at 1601, it was ready when I got there last night. Dropped it in Hazleton, PA earlier today and am headed right back to St. Louis......... empty. My second long deadhead off the east coast in 2 weeks to the midwest. Sad thing is, even with the DH's, these loads probably pay better than what I would have gotten off the east coast.

Ellis KS - enroute to Cheyenne. Appears that the three axle alignment I got in Greeley last month is a good one - the two I got thanks to RA over the summer just accelerated the wear on my steer tires.

Dropped my mt trailer about 15 mins from the house. "New" Walmart consolidation docks in Hammond, IN. That'll come in handy. Came out and got sent to a drop yard at Pulaski on I-55. Scooted down and dropped in Morris after hour wait at the gate, 1/2 hour wait at rcvg and 40 min wait for yard guys to jockey some trailers around so I could actually drop it and grab an mt. Then to Rochelle for washout and up to Belvidere for 0100 load of frozen desserts. First stop Corrine, UT tomorrow, then Grandview, WA Monday. Think this is my first time to WA since U2 was training me. Hunkered down at the Rock Springs J for the night.

Don't worry... you have your "challenging" shippers/receivers too.

My friend Tim told me about the time a guy up in north Maine that loaded 3 steel assemblies on his skateboard. ASSured him that it was well under gross. The nearest scale is in Houlton - he's not quite believing this guy, so he drives way the hell over there.

23,000 lbs over gross, 150 miles round trip out-of-route. The guy gets PO"d when Tim tells him a chunk has to come off - so he cancels the entire shipment. He's out the fuel - nearest load from there was down in lower New England, out the time time - and only gets paid TONU - $250.

So... don't be laughin' so much! :biggrin_2556:
