Took a load from Texas to Phoenix for a monday morning delivery. Take the opportunity to spend the night at home in Tucson. Deliver first thing and the consignee takes their sweet time unloading me. Then get a new load and drive south to casa grande. Those dicks take so long they kill my clock! After getting loaded, strapped, and tarped I only have 3 hours left for the day. Headed east. Either I take the opportunity 2 days in a row to spend the night with my wife or I shut down about 100 miles east. No brainer in my book! Home two nights in a row!

Tyson facility, that shall remain nameless, called Prime an hour after my departure and told them I needed to turn around and come back for a temp recorder they forgot to put in trailer.

I get the message, 40 miles away and 1/3 of my 110 loaded mile trip.(110 miles? yeah but with 220 mile DH and it makes pay cutoff)

Middle of nowhere, 2 lane, no where to turn around.

Fortunately I find a place within 5 miles, and I get a message that Tyson supervisor is on the road hoping to meet me half way.

The meet location is relayed and I am literally setting my brakes when he pulls up.

plus I'm getting paid for the extra 40 miles (20 to turn around, and 20 to get back on route).

    Could have been worse

Got in n out of Success this morning before any rush. Retiring my POS company truck a few weeks early.

It's not brand new, but about 20k miles new.

Cascadia. My first with super singles and DEF.

I beat the rush to detail shop. No wait to move fridge, TV and chain rack.

i might have a few days off before a student is ready on Friday.
