Gotta love insurance rules.. I would bet the mentor would prefer to keep on longer for extra miles as well
You bet I did 19,800 Mls in 5.5 weeks with my mentor and he loved it. He made a little pocket change.
What kind of miles are you getting out of the Ocala term? Who in the recruiter in Ocala? I live 70 miles away and would like to talk to someone face to face about Swift. You can PM me if you want.
Miles vary. you need to call or apply on the swift site and call them after you apply to get in the school, your looking at about 5 to 6 weeks after you start school to get your CDL A Lic and then go with a mentor for 6 weeks and after that you will go solo, don't know if they have a waiting list for your truck. You will get pay while you are with the mentor. School cost is $3,900. You will pay it back weekly they will give you all the info you need. Can't meet with you since I'm on the road usully about 4 weeks at a time. But I was just out 7 weeks.
Macho, Past experience (life experience) etc. should play a part in evaluation of a new driver. ie myself. If its company policy, so be it. If in fact if there is wiggle room I certainly would like to know. Like many, my background with trucks, heavy equip. doesn't reflect on a new CDL ticket. I am humble and will learn much from a mentor. My hope is that if he (or she) finds me safe and competent that I won't spend 6 weeks when only 3 is needed.
An "award winning driver" could have EASILY blind-sided into one of those spots from where he stopped. Turn the wheel hard left and put it in reverse! Jeez. He even had another guy with him if he needed a spotter. Amateur hour!
