IDK, everything has to be very neat so it will all fit in as it is now. Juggling stuff around all the time is the pitts. At least we, most of us, have enclosed racks and they are kinda nice.
I met a L/O that has a "test" enclosure that is 6" deeper than what we have now. we already have problems with the trailer corners and winches getting caught up on the enclosure and frames I'm not sure how well it will work out. It would be nice to have more room when the weather gets cold and the tarps don't want to roll up as nice.

Ok. I should be heading to Prime i a couple of weeks. I am supposed to be going to the flatbed division. My question is this. I have heard that you have to buy your own equipment but that you buy it from Prime. Can anyone give me a few details on this? Price, payments, etc. I dont like being blind sided so im trying to find out all I can now. Thanks

They take 75 a week till its all paid back. All deducted is around 125. Wkly. That is if u run or not. Company drivers can and do go negative , just depending on how u run and home time.

Total price for equip usually runs around $2500 +/- given you get used or new equipment one thing I wish I had bought was used tarps instead of new ones once you pay off the balance the equipment is yours and if you leave you can turn in the major stuff to get a refund (tarps chains straps binders etc) so taking care of your equip is a good idea

Ok thanks for the help

I am currently doing my PSD with a l/o who has offered me to run the truck after I am done with TnT the details are not hammered out yet, I was wondering if you guys would recommend it or just get in company assigned truck. with the company truck I will have to pay for tarps ect and the fridge but I can sell it back or keep it once I pay it all off, on the L/O truck I wont have to pay for that stuff. Just looking for some feedback from other drivers.

You will have no experience in what you're doing, running a truck that is essentially a business. What is this guy going to pay you? Or... is he giving you a line about you get to keep what's left after expenses?da1 and Chucktaylor Thank this.

I don't recommend it. It's a L/O truck, what's he gonna pay you on those weeks where the truck doesn't make any money. What kinda of benifits? He got medical and Dental for you. He gonna take care if withholding taxes, etc... Or you gonna get stuck with figuring and paying the IRS yourself?
you better know exactly what you are getting into, and get everything in writing, and even then you still have to completely trust he aint gonna leave you high and dry at some point.
You only know what your trainer tells you, and unless you've driven in the business before you haven't experienced anything in trucking on your own. Maybe y the guy will be on the up and up. However, if he ain't, it will be weeks or months wasted when somebody clues you in or you figure it out.Highway101, ironpony and da1 Thank this. -
ok spoke with a friend today who did confirm adding more chains binders and straps to the equip list he also said he saw a few rgns in the springfield yard any info on that
