Looking for l/o flatbedders for info. No whiny #####y types please. I want to get answers from someone who knows their numbers. Also for any l/o - Ive seen a couple Prime trucks with 3/4 wheel fairings,is Prime changing to this on all new trucks?and Ive seen two International Prostars (the new real aerodynamic ones) that appeared to be lease trucks? Is Prime leasing those now also?
Flatbedders I would like to know avg$/mi all miles, what kind of tarp and stop pay and avg length of haul?

Prime is going to 3/4 fairings on all new trucks. As far as the Prostars go, I've seen 2 of them. I imagine at this point they are still testing them, but from what I heard, they wern't very impressed with them. So it may or may not be a truck they offer in the future.

I have a friend over in flatbed doing the L/O thing. He's pretty happy. Has himself a regional gig that gets him home 2 or 3 nights a week - knocking back over $5k gross to the truck per week.

The base truck payment for a Cascadia is $834 on the reefer side - that may change because of extra flatbed equipment. You should be able to score in the mid to high 7's fuel-wise. We have a couple of folks on my board that post in the 8's regularily.

Thanks. If I come over I plan to try to get thru home on the weekends with a load to get my 34 restart. Pulling flats should make that doable. Im also giving thought to training. A friend of mine is an instructor/trainer there on the reefer side and pulls down decent money most weeks. I would like to talk to some flat l/o but all I ever run into lately are whiny company drivers. Im not saying being a company driver makes you whiny,Im just saying these particular drivers were whiny. (former Passmore drivers mostly)

Yeah; I thought the same thing. I was told oh; we have 3 flat bed divisions. You could do that no problem. If you decided to stay out that is no problem either. The tune did not change until I signed the lease and put myself on the board. Oh; you will need to go to the national board and stay out a month or so.....:biggrin_25516:

I have to say you are probably right. Just because the guy lives in Missouri, and maybe near the terminal, doesn't mean he will be getting through every week.

Anyone who thinks they will get through any particular place on a regular basis is kidding themselves... Unless maybe they get on a dedicated route.

As for going home loaded? Guess he thinks there are a lot of loads that can sit for 34 hours, and conveniently fit into his weekend plans... Then deliver.

As for whiny company drivers... You won't ever hear a company driver complain that he didn't get a paycheck for a full week of work. Can't say the same about a L/O.
