If you go through prime inc training school and get your cdl...is it under Missouri state or your hometown? Do you have to transfer it to homestate eventually?
Also. Does prime hire from South Dakota? Leaning towards tanker. Flatbed is a close second.
Thanks

I live in Massachusetts and aside from high state tax you cannot get even a cdl permit if you ever had a license suspension. I did about 12yrs ago due to not paying tickets as i was an idiot back then.
So either have to relocate or if prime keeps cdl in Missouri domicile I'm good to go. Still want a tax free state so south Dakota or Texas. New Hampshire is a pain. But was concerned with hiring area and how sympathetic recruiters are to creative homestates.
I hear tanker is northeast and is highest paying. I have family friends northeast. But if i have to change my residence to get liscense i don't know if prime will care that much to consider it my home time location.
Any insight? -
Ask them. Call their recruitment. Once upon a time I applied online to Prime. It took a long time filling out online forms and required a lot of dates and info to be on it. Then they never even replied. No reason given , just no response. So make a quick call before wasting time.

Thanks. I figured somebody has gotten their license through prime. If they make you transfer it to your homestate i need to change my residence before i do anything.
I guess I'll call. They are generally honest about basic info right? They know the basics? Like cdl info and where division run? -
That question is something you need to know. You don't need to tell recruiter if or why you cannot get a CDL in MA. She will get the answer for you. Just say you are very interested in Prime. They get bonuses for getting new drivers. She will help you. Later be honest about past mistake(s) and have a ready-made 2-sentence explanation of what happened and how you really needed to grow up and you now have. That worked for me.

Talking to people directly seems to be the way to go.
I have 5 yrs with my current company. But before that cash jobs and intermittent part time work. I have a hard time remembering any dates for above table work and i bet the cash work gaps look sketchy. But that can't be too uncommen.
I get worried because prime and I'll guess most megas have a pretty cookie cutter approach to weed out applicants.
Thanks for the tips. -
Worked for cash, landscaping, painting houses, etc., while unemployed and searching for full time work. People on this forum say that all the time on applications.

I worked there two years. You will get license under Missouri and then you change it over. I was from Georgia so it wasn't hard switching back. I also did tanker not sure about North Dakota because we mainly ran the Northeast and the south.
