Well now you know Prime does not just hire people to fill seats like so many other companies do. Many poorly qualified drivers are hired by these companies, where they become a huge liability, due to equipment abuse, customer dissatisfaction, accidents, and high turnover. Prime's slogan is not the Best of the Worst. Attitude is a major factor in Accidents, Attitude and Poor driving Practices are a key factor in Severity and frequency of Accidents. Drivers are propelling a deadly destructive force and should be screened to ensure that they are well-trained and above-average physically, mentally and emotionally. Prime identified you as a potential problem driver, mentally and emotionally. Your attitude in this situation just reinforced their posistion. I am glad they weeded you out. Prime doesn't have a problem with Veterans, I spent my time in the military, like so many others here at prime, so where's the problem with Veterans.

After reading your posts I feel I need to explain that I didn't get upset with the doctor or my recruiter (at least until she said I threatened her). I did get upset with the security guy for trying to make me violate OPSEC, which any vet can say was an appropriate response (this was after they told me to pack up and they would send me home).

For all the Vietnam vets - Welcome home.
For all those with good advice - thanks.
For all those who feel like it could be my fault - thanks for your opinions as well.

    123456 and SheepDog Thank this.

Sapper Daddy, I've been in the Air Force for almost 20 years. I commend you on keeping to good OPSEC about your wife's deployment. I can guarantee that the security guard could not get the info even if he was FBI. You did an outstanding job in protecting the information...

Now, a really good company that would most likely take you is Con-Way. They are in the top 100 for hiring veterans. They have a really good school close to Joplin, MO. I've talked to them several times and they are really good people. Give Christine a call in their recruiting dept. She is a super sweet lady and loves us military guys. If you need any help, just PM me and I'll be more than happy to assist you.

SheepDog, Sapper Daddy87 and 123456 Thank this.

Why did your wife's deployment even come up after you were asked to leave? Security had to be called to evict you from the premise?

There must have been some concern to bring in the big man in.

Grumpygroundhog, do you get paid to drive by Prime or to refute posts on the internet?? Instead of offering a Vet. a solution or a direction to take to get a job at Prime you give lame excuses defending their lame attitude to this gentleman:biggrin_25513:

Prime is a really good example of the "meat in the seat mentality" and you not only work there but defend them, :biggrin_25510:

Sapper Daddy87 Thank you for your service to your country and good luck in your future endeavors.

The issue came up because of my chapter to get out in order to take care of children..... my kids are going to Germany with my mother-in-law.

Security didn't have to be called, I think he was just already there handling another issue. They let me stay until an hour before my bus.

Ok,I have to say,I am a Veteran also, and I have been with Prime for 4 years now,So,the title of your post is misleading.I thank you for your service to our Country, but I have to say, saying Prime does not like Veterans is kind of a blanket statement. There are many Veterans here at Prime and they seem to appreciate us.You should not mislead people with a title like you did.

You made it sound like Prime doesn't like Veterans due to the simple fact that they are Veterans.Like they were refusing to hire you because you have served in the Military. That would be both unlawful, and just plain wrong, and if they were like that I don't think you would find any Veterans working here, also, you would have a huge number of lawsuits,Government investigations, and many pissed off people in front of Primes terminal with signs picketing.Just my two cents.
