not in todays world of trucking. If you have not heard, we are being sued left and right. If the driver is right or wrong...........
This is s tuff business to get into for little return.
So if you are ex military, can fly why drive a big truck???'
Have a pregnebt wife and wabt to go OTR?? -
I haven't asked anything of you, nor do i expect it. I don't talk about things i dont know about. If you guys are talking planes i will sit back and watch, when it comes to the military i have more than enough experience to make a valid point.
You dont know what OPSEC is, you dont know that its a clear violation of several federal codes and well as state sections to ask about anything covered by military OPSEC. As a clear violation of the oath that soldier took, i would of gotten agnry to. The fact that anyone tried to force him to say anything about movements of the United States Military should be at question here, Not if you and I are going to become life long pals. -
Translation: Shuckie darn, I don't really care all that much!
What was at question was this person's ability to drive a truck, and I don't think that someone with anger problems is a good candidate. -
I am not pregnant, nor am i mentally ill, i have handled streeful conditions that you cant fathom, and am frankly more than irritated at your lack of understanding. If driving a truck is too hard for people, in this forum or out on the road, then it would seem they made a bad career move. The "intervention" of security that you mention...i think you misread that, the questions were being asked by a person that is in charge of security, as in security clearance. If i am wrong i will gladly accept that lump and move on. I see no evidence of any "temper tantrum" that assumption is yours due to your lack of knowledge. Stick to talking planes, your military knowledge is lacking.
If you want a victory, and thats why you lurk on here...Hoist your nose up in the air a bit, i freely admit you know aerospace better than i do. Hope that makes you feel better. -

I did a 3 year lease for Prime that ended in 2006. There were several issues I had with Prime, but I did hang in there and finished the lease. My major issue was that I could not get home enough. The lease is designed to keep you out for at least 6 weeks or you would go major in the hole while you were off duty. Another issue was the money they withheld for something they called overmiles. They also kept money in a tire account. If a person wanted to bail out on the lease, the money was lost. This amount for me was $16,000. So had I not finished the lease, that is a lot of money to lose. Oh, they kept me running and I made money, but only because I trained 9 drivers during my tenure. And believe me when I say I was "burned-out" when I left Prime. I moved on to less stress. By the way, I know about veterans. I am one myself and have sent 3 sons to Afganistan. Thank you for your service and may God bless your path.

The money isn't "lost" - you get whatever remains after repairs to the tractor - which of course may deplete the accounts entirely. That's per federal law. OOIDA has sued almost every carrier that has some sort of lease program over this, and the case was dismissed when it came to Prime - I assume that means that the company is following the law.
