So I have completed everything here at Campus Inn and I’m now waiting on a call from my trainer. This morning we had a couple classes (elogs, and more pre trip inspection). After that I got my hard copy of medical card and packet then received my Prime Inc. badge. I should be done here at Campus Inn and hopefully getting on the road ASAP. One important thing to remember when coming here to Prime...be honest about everything. They don’t put up with ######## and liars and they will make that very clear. Out.

Refrained from commenting on his other diatribes till he invaded your thread. Sorry, but have to address for good measure.
Knew readily from the start, he was one of the multitudes we have that just jump straight into a lease chasing those big bucks. Could have possibly helped him, but decided to sit back for just a bit to see how it would pan out.
Started to turn out typical of the 8 out of 10 failures we see on lease side. Everything is against him, not a single realization of what he needs to address to change the situation himself. It's everything BUT him! He knows it all. Total disregard of any suggestions put forth & offers of help that were offered from those here. See it so much that I have gotten so, so #### tired of it. (We HAVE actually helped some guys survive & turn it around, but not with the attitude I have observed).
They ALL think it will come so easy in this low profit margin business. Most all fail & his story is still just proving how true that is. We try endlessly to tell them...... but they hardly ever seem to listen. You need to gain so, so much more experience on the business end. But, they do not want to listen to those that have preceeded them.... Think if they can just drive a truck, all will fall in place..... There is a lot more to it, as you are soon to see.
Stick with that company side for at least a year before EVER even thinking of lease or own purchase. (Have an obligation now, anyway...right?). I do not encourage leasing in any shape or form, though I know many that have made it work & done well. Even started their own small fleets. But, I'm a believer in buying if you are going to leave a company fold.
If you even think about doing anything like that in the future, request all settlements on your truck while company & run it as if you owned or leased yourself & keep all records ON PAPER to see if it would even be worth the added risk & responsibility. No arguing what is actually staring you in the face. If it can't be profitable on paper, how the hell would it be any different after leaping? And, if someone can't take the time to do that before risking their own money & livelyhood, how the heck do they think they will be able to do that when everything IS riding on It?
Why ANYONE would just jump without even planning is beyond me. We try to tell 'em, but they never heed the advice at all.
Far from a cheerleader for Prime, I have directed many others elsewhere when situation suited. Heck, I have directed some of my students to better jobs that more suited their family needs before their obligations were even up. (While they are in better suited situations, they ALL miss being here & the treatment they had & comraderi they had here.)
Your in good hands. In truth, going to be hit or miss, as far as instructor/trainers you may get. We have so many good ones, but, huge company that is always going to have their minority of those not quite up to snuff that they are always trying to weed out.
Don't sweat the small stuff. Things aren't easy living in a small box 24/7 with another individual. Nerves inevitably will be hit at some time or another. Realize it is only for a finite time & you just have to make it through.
That said, if there IS a big issue or anything safety related....rest assured a call back to dispatch or Stan will address in short order.
Just be sure it isn't a snowflake issue or little ######## complaints. They are serious about the training program. Again, it's long.... but I do believe it is far beyond the rest offered.
Sorry for MY diatribe, but got tired of reading the failure guys ########. And, when it invaded your thread..... felt I needed to address.
Your journey is just about to begin. Jump in that instructors truck, give it your all & give it hell.
Best out to you, bud!

Newest update. Last night I got a call from my trainer. I walked outside and met him then we immediately went to the pad and spent some time shifting and bobtailing around. We just picked up trailer here in Springfield and are leaving at 3 to head for Bethlehem, PA. Out.

Congrats! You're rollin'! I'm leaving for Denver tomorrow.
If you're interested in leasing in the future. Look up a guy named John who leases with Prime. On youtube, the Red Viking Trucker did an interview with him. His phone number and all. Contact him. He was a businessman. Can definitely help with advise.

Gee CaptJimmy... Looking forward to an update. Taking it for granted you're busy.
Here I sit, after day one. They had me do a road test with something I'm not going to do. Dry van. When we got there in town. Who was there at the dock? Prime! I got to wait about an hour for his unload. hehe
I thought that helped make it a good first day.Veryblessed and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Well guys. Its already been an adventure. Left Springfield and went to PA. Then from there went to Connecticut and Vermont. Just arrived back in PA now. Ive done most of the driving with my trainer and it took some getting used to but Im much more comfortable with it now. We get another load tomorrow and off again. Out.

Good morning everyone. Just a quick update. I’ve completed a little over a week of PSD training and I can say I’ve learned a lot. I feel very comfortable driving on the interstate and I’ve almost perfected shifting. Driving around town and tight corners is still unnerving but that will come with time. My trainer was scheduled for vacation so I just got home to Florida for a week. Will meet back in Chattanooga next Monday, spend about 5 more days on the road and then back to Springfield to hopefully test out on my CDL exam and get my license.
TheRealPorkChopExpress, lilnae, Veryblessed and 4 others Thank this. -
Its Sunday and tomorrow I have to be back in Chattanooga to meet up with my trainer. Hoping to be back in Springfield, MO this weekend and start testing out for my CDL. Vacation was great but now it’s one extra week I have to spend on the road with a trainer which sucks. I’ll be checking in midweek for an update. Out.
Veryblessed, Rollr4872 and FullMetalJacket Thank this. -
Enjoy your time off. Good luck on the testing when you get back.
captjimmy Thanks this.
