Running Aces gave you some good info on Prime. There long training program is ridiculous, most new drivers only need 2-4 weeks with a trainer. There’s lots of companies that hire new drivers that are a lot better than driving a SLOW prime truck. You might consider FFE and look into their linehaul division.

I've seeing so many WISE advises given here, it does not require even do a search. I've "quit" trucking in 2015, just was tired of it, yet.. 2020 bought a truck and went back, cuz of CV19 scam, that killed my local income.. have a family to feed. Feel for you, just don't rush taking anything, do it on your own, if there is a chance.

Unless you’re vaccinated or plan to be, don’t bother with the passport stuff.

Attend at least 160 hr. cdl school. More than 160 hrs. is also good. I think WIOA program also approves 160 hr. or more.
Less than 160 hours reduces your choices of companies to apply with.

Prime has the most organized and thorough training for newbies. However the very long TNT training phase is effective, but the living with another man in the tiny space is difficult. Many of us simply cannot sleep in a moving truck. You may not know if you can until you try. I'm also think pulling refrigerated freight will make you lean toward getting out of the industry. Refrigerated, or "reefer" have the worst customers in the industry. Maybe Prime customers are better than most but reefer customer are just awful, like wait around for the next half-day and maybe we'll unload you and please write a check for $375.00 so we can unload you, awful.

Focus on the company before deciding how to get your license. CDL school is brief. Working conditions and pay for that first year is a more important than how you get your license.
