Imagine being in a truck for 4-6 weeks that has no cabinet/storage space. The mattress is literally touching the back of driver seat. Here's a video tour of Prime LW truck.

You can still request a Condo with Prime, but your cpm will be lower than with the LW.

Wil Trans pulls Prime trailers full of Prime freight to/from Prime customers. They also use Prime network of truckstops, trailer washouts, yards, phone app. I think Prime pays company drivers 42 CPM in a "normal truck" or more in a Lightweight Truck.

The thing to keep in mind with pulling reefer trailers you are not going to get as many miles every week because the customers waste so much of your available working hours. You can't spend 4-8 hours waiting to load/unload and still drive 11 hours a day. I mean you can if you know the customer will hold you that long before you arrive, but you don't know how long you will be waiting until they are finished. It could be drop & hook and gone in 30 minutes or your appointment window is 8am - 8pm and you are still waiting 12 hours after arrival.

Prime deals with Tyson & Walmart a lot. Nobody waste more driver time than those companies. They make the DMV & Post Office look like ninjas on crack by comparison.

The driver in this video might spend 1 night a week in the truck. Mostly he is home nightly. LW truck makes sense as an emergency sleeper, not so much for 4-6 weeks away from home. Prime allows you to pick a full size truck rather than a LW but you MIGHT, MIGHT, MIGHT, have to wait in Springfield to get one. They don't pay your hotel bill while you wait, you do. Understand you are going to be riding with a trainer 1-2 months before you get your own truck. It's not like a decision to go to Prime today means being in a truck next week. Prime probably has the longest/best training but everything is setup to be a lease/purchase driver unless you resist it, which you can. Some newbies equate resisting lease to being labeled a troublemaker .

New drivers can be afraid to rock the boat during what can feel like a 2 month job interview.
