There goes the neighborhood. Hoppers pulled by cascadias instead of hoods or cabovers.

The thought of a guy jumping out wearing flip-flops and a pair of sweats at the grain bin makes me sick. Don’t people know that’s why we live in a country to get away from all that mess!

Watch for prime, sucking up all the big customers!

On the bright side, at least I'll finally experience what it's like to pass one of those trailers.

If anyone watched their announcement they have 25 trailers currently. Notice they said trailers, not units, in the division. They were approached about a year ago by some of their current tank customers which leads me to think that whoever was doing it wasn’t servicing them how they wanted. Just a theory, but I think that even tho where they’re running has banker’s hours for unloading trucks they likely run a night shift. Get a spotter truck and have someone dropping loaded trailers and now the night shift is more efficient.

Another thought I had, in the announcement they stated they will not be running Ag exempt on their logs and they won’t be running over 80k gross. In my opinion that also goes against the general internet opinion of them ruining everything. I’m sure their bean counters have looked at everything over the year leading up to this and they’re confident they can do it at legal weight and legal hours.

The gate keeping in trucking is funny. If someone like Foltz went out and expanded by 25 trailers to service a customer it wouldn’t have even been news but because it’s Prime the internet is losing their minds.

I am surprised they aren't doing like some other "megas" and getting into hauling sand. Unless of course they are going to try to haul sand in those hopper bottoms too like some might. Or at least I think when someone says hauling sand in a bottom drop they are referring to a hopper bottom.

Don't forget them saggy sweats. Where the driver bends over and you see a foot and a half of butt crack.

Bison did the same here in Canada yet you rarely see them pulling hoppers .. bad part is prime has their light weight trucks that shippers love. Good part is the same shippers don’t like guys messing up their systems and line ups to load / unload . Back 25 years ago when I did it I saw a few fist fights lol
