Does Prime have an inverter or something similiar in their trucks? Also what is the firearm policy? This would be for a registered firearm, attached to a CCW permit.

Yes
Absolutely no firearms
Nothing worse than sitting in the safety class during orientation and every self stylized "bad ###" trying to rationalize to the safety director why they should have a weapon in their truck.
Once "no guns" sinks in (after a dozen questions from the morons) then come the baton, bat, knife, brass knuckle, tazer and boobie trap questions. You'll want the gun you are not allowed to have to put yourself out of your misery. It's not just a question from these idiots, it spirals into a trucker BS anecdote fest much like every truck stop lunch counter... Where one guys thinks his tale is better than the one previous.
While I'm on the subject, do all former military special ops guys drive trucks after they leave the military. Seems to be an inordinate amount of former Spec Ops driving trucks. There's practically one or two who claim to be so at every truck stop restaurant counter. -
LOL Thanks U2 lol What about knifes? Seems to me they would come in handy. I carry a few for work purposes.
-
inverters yes, and i think the policy on knives if i remember right is nothing over 4 inches and has to be a folder, no fixed blades.

Ill check before I bring mine back. Whenever that happens to be

While i'm not a former spec ops, I am former military, and I DO concealed carry wherever the law allows.
Unfortunately, while driving my prime inc. truck is NOT one of them. Also, most shippers/receivers prohibit firearms on their sites. Furthermore, any CMV for that matter, that's a FEDERAL LAW. I don't mind so much, cause I always have my tire thumper handy.
-
Not special ops, but former AF... and intel, to boot... I told those guys where to go! lol
Yep, the tire thumper is the only thing I have. It's called a tire thumper... and occasionally I use it for that! I can't tell a flat tire from an inflated one from the thump - but I can usually tell it's flat if I look at it! lol I use it mostly for breaking seals and reaching the button on the CAT scale from the door of the truck! lol -
I challenge you to find that law in the FMCSA handbook. There is NO LAW against carrying a firearm in a CMV as long as you are following the applicable state law. The only federal law on the matter deals with transporting a firearm in any vehicle across state lines. That law states it must be secured in a locked box seperate from ammo unless state law allows you to do more. IF you actually had a CCW you would have known this already or you should have known if taught by a NRA certified instructor.TooSlow4Words, SheepDog and mtnMoma Thank this.

Well...
You still have to conform to applicable state and local laws. And Prime is well within their rights as an employer and equipment owner to ban firearems from the cab of their trucks.SheepDog Thanks this. -
That is why I said you must follow state law, however no state law can forbid you from having it in your truck due to federal law which allows "safe passage" thru all states as long as its secured. Yes it is Primes right to deny the drivers the right to protect themselves just like itz my right not to drive for them. Frankly there is no good reason for banning firearms. If someone says it makes the workplace safer then Im goin to ask how that worked out for all the people killed at work by shooters? Laws only apply to those willing to follow them. Someone decides to go on a rampage the no guns policy isnt goin to me dung to them.
