Except you pay for all repairs needed when the leased truck is given back to the owner .

Wear and tear is the cost of business. If there was a storm and your store front window broke, you fix it, then write it off. People have no idea how to run a business. Also running a business isn't for everyone.

When your done leasing the store does the owner charge the leasee for a new roof or a coat of paint ? So he can lease/sell the store to the next person

Depends if the wear and tear and use of the roof directly or paint was agreed to in the lease.

How is the lease going? Getting a good weekly average in revenue?

I am HT/prime trailers. Leasing since november. I stay home 4 or 5 days after being out 3 weeks.
I have only had 2 negative checks. Average around thousand a week when I run. On less than 2500 miles a week.

    darthanubis Thanks this.

So just for simplicity sake; Average gross (including hometime) for the period/ Average miles driven for the same period? (Assuming all taxes are paid.)

You make more as a company driver. If you don't mind being micromanaged, and possibly a crap truck to drive. You may also be put on a crap dedicated route or regional. But everyone should make 1k a week. 1k a week lease is nothing. You still have to take taxes and health care expenses out of that. More like $700 a week. To make good money your truck needs to make $3.5k to $4k a week. Hopefully, leaving you around $1700.00 before taxes, health care. That's $1.8 to $2/mile. That ain't going to happen on a consistent basis. To not have a life, it's not adding up. I'm looking to enjoy my quality of life. Not train, not live in a truck 24/7, but to enjoy life. So, I'll be looking for a company offering decent pay with quality of life. Night dispatch just pulled out of his butt a new rule that never came across the Qualcomm. Reschedules are considered LATE!. WTF?!? Guess I'll be turning down loads then if the schedule is too tight.
