I don't either, his statement of 18 years of experience doesn't seem to hold water at the point of the first issue.
    A month? for an Injector?

I would have been on the phone every day to get it fixed, even if I had to track down the part and bring it to the shop to get it fixed. Then he doesn't know about the breakdown pay which begs the question, did he ever read his contract with Prime?
Here is what I would have done at this point, making $35k, I would have taken the money gone to the nearest FL or WS dealer and put it down on a new truck, the second that truck is ready, I would have told Prime to ****** off.
I had this trouble with a new team, now the driver in the team has to wake the other person up to be a secondary person when backing. No excuse.
This is something I don't get, how does this happen? IS it in the CONTRACT for the lease purchase contractor?
Yep again what does HIS contract say?
Really, I would have quit with the training the new driver thing.
Not really an issue, he made $35k, that's a good downpayment for a truck.
    Why?

    Because they can.

One reason why I would lease only for commercial purposes is exactly this issue, never lease a personal vehicle - you never come ahead and in this case Prime is treating it as a personal vehicle which goes right back to what does the contract say?
This has happened to others too.
I would have too but then i would never put myself in that position, especially with 18 years experience.

I don't either and I'm not carrying the water for that driver's foolish mistake walking into that situation eyes wide shut. That's all on him. But Prime is guilty of misclassifying drivers then fraudulently skipping out on paying employee taxes.

Their contractors have the ability to say no. It’s not Prime’s fault that the contractors aren’t in the position financially to say no. I would need to see written communication between him and someone at Prime where the guy in the video said he wanted to stay home longer and Prime made him leave out and I’d need to see where Prime said he has to take a trainee on his truck or he’s not going home. If there was proof those things truly happened then I’ll agree with you on the misclassification. But anything short of seeing actual proof I’m convinced this all came down to him not being able to pay his expenses to be able to sit home longer.

It’s just absurd to me. All the headache of dealing with the trainee and the rules set by the mega carriers put onto on the lease purchase. All the driving and all the frustration of low pay…If only they would just get a normal driving position at a decent company like Walmart. One could put the money away and buy a truck, so much easier that way…

That's what I did many years ago. Spent 8 years as a company driver saving every cent to pay cash for my rig. But everybody wants it now and can't be patient to do it the sure way, or at least give themselvesa fighting chance. And if they're not gonna do the legwork to generate some real trucking business that doesn't revolve around brokers, well, they can do ok but they won't ever thrive, not year round. But for a lot of these guys that want to own a truck the business part of it is an afterthought. As if the money just falls from the sky because you bought a truck. Like why the heck do want to own a money pit becauseif you don't have some good business to keep you going that's all you've got, a money pit.

    Prime is making a killing

They are fleasing out trucks for $1200-$1300 a week

Sending their cheap loads they don't want to go to their company trucks going instead to the flease trucks

They get their flease trainers to pay for Prime's students they have coming in lol

I'm sure the list just goes on and on, what's next the flease drivers gonna be forced to rent the driver facing cameras from Prime? :violent3:

    :laughing-guffaw:

It's sooo crazy you just have to laugh and maybe cry at the same time!

i bet they will have to rent the front facing cams and prob pay a monthly service fee if one. i heard the new petes and shakers are 1400-1600 a week plus what ever else they screw em for. you'll never see the truck if you don't have the title in hand with your name and the lien holders name on it!!! id'e rather have that cabbage in my bank account than making someone else rich. they want 23k down plus extras if you want any. id'e goto someone like arrow and buy a truck if things don't work out you can take the truck elsewhere!!!

the best truck is a paid off truck!!! if things get bad you can park it when you want. you can work as hard as you want and run where you want.

With everyone leaving i bet there going to be making a killing on them down payments they require for a lease truck. i don't think i would even run under there authority with my own truck since they dictate how you run your truck with there crazy requirments
