If the truck cant get 6.75 mpg at 65mph, something is wrong. My accelerator IS glued to the floor and im averaging 7.2! Light load, 62mph, i can get 8.2...
LOL, i believe it. Honestly one of the reasons i want to be an o/o is so i dont have to have a governed truck. But that doesn't mean i'm going to drive fast either....I just think that I should be able to pass people going slower than me without taking all day to do it.

Also, i notice that the lower the governors the more the drivers speed. Obviously not on the highway, but swift always passes me in 55 zones, etc....
yeah but you cant make money on short loads with live load and live unload either. ;)
Learn how to read. I use a higher level of english than most people can understand I guess. What i said is that if he's leasing the truck than the whole MPG thing, forced governors, etc, make him an employee. However, he's not leasing a truck. So it doesnt matter.

So i guess that explains why u2 takes so little hometime. Staying out longer than 4 weeks with only 4 days home. Dirty little trick these companies play, honestly.
Whenever i stay out for a holiday i get laid over. I never understood why they didnt just get me home if they werent going to run me...

I only asked because i thought you were a lease op and i hear a lot of thsee guys tell me they dotn go home cause they cant afford it. If that's the way you want to run thats the way you want to run. I don't mind staying out 6 to 8 weeks, but i do mind the company screwing me on hometime for it, thats why i dont do it. :)

I have to give you credit. if i stayed out "until the job gets to me"...i'd go home twice a week. :D
I'm workin' on getting debt free. I always was until I worked for crst....
Doesn't it make you mad to pay car insurance when you only drive it 10 days a year? Im paying $1200 a year on car insurance and $240 a year on motorcycle insurance. It makes me so mad. If i went home 11 days a year like you do, that'd be $100 a day to drive a car. ####! But omfg im a speeder with one speeding ticket, so i had to get my rate doubled. ###### car insurance.....

That's for sure. For some reason I'm starting to wonder if all this is true...

We run heavy reefer... all the time. Nothing wrong with the truck... its just that they're older Centuries. You have to work at it to get the higher fuel economy.

You might change your tune there when you see the difference in insurance prices...

Sure you can. Company drivers and cheap O/O outfits pay cents-per-mile, so short loads suck. Gotta love those loads that run 300 or 400 miles that pay in the range of $1000. Thats called a nice days' work!

No trick... its just a matter of availability. If you work the system right, you can stretch 4 days into 5 or 6. Any way you look at it, you're sacrificing a weeks pay to stay at home. If you have a truck payment, you'd better have a plan for dealing with it... and that plan isn't called blowing all your cash at the truckstop, casino, etc...

    ####! You are getting screwed!

4 days is the max? ####, even Arrow would give you a day off every week up to 7.

Welll, they never told me to stay out for holidays either..So maybe i deserved it. I just didnt care much about getting home for holidays, and figured i'd be helpful. Turns out i'm better off going home for holidays, so thats exactly what i do now... ;)

like ironpony said, you can stretch it to 5 or 6. I do the same thing here at werner. They dont really give a #### unless you go home under a load. going home for 4 days usually guarantees i dont have a load over the weekend.. ;)

It's just bean countin, thats all it is.

Have you ever worked for Werner or CRE? What qualifies you to make such a statement?

If it angers you so much when people who claimed to have worked for Prime critisize them, what would be your reaction be if people who have never worked for them were critical of them?

I suppose you're right... but the things those guys tell me - are straight out of "run away... fast, and keep running!" That in my opinion, is a good enough reason to not want to work for either outfit.
